PGH Expo: Team 2 Evaluations

The 2025 Expo was packed with talent as 80 prospects hit the floor on September 27th. The event format featured four hours of nonstop action, with players rotating through organized 3v3 and 5v5 matchups. One of the key benefits of the showcase is the media exposure—coverage from our scouts has already drawn thousands of views on X, and our post-event writeups are read by hundreds more. Every athlete who participates is highlighted in these articles, which makes the Prep Girls Hoops showcases such a unique and valuable experience. Players also had the chance to compete in front of various college coaches throughout the day. My focus this time was on Teams 1, 2, 7, 9, and 10. Let's start with some standout moments from Team 2!    Harper had an impressive showing for Team 2 at the PGH Expo, using her quick first step to blow past defenders on the wing and attack the basket. She also showcased her off-ball awareness, making a sharp cut to the rim and finishing the play with confidence. Her aggressiveness and ability to create scoring chances stood out, making her a key contributor during the day.     Mayrese had an outstanding day at the PGH Expo and proved to be the kind of player who thrives in a showcase setting. With the ball in her hands, she was shifty and explosive, using her quickness to attack the rim and create scoring opportunities. She knocked down shots from deep with confidence and showed off a smooth mid-range jumper to keep defenders guessing. Defensively, she was relentless—pestering ball-handlers and constantly jumping passing lanes, racking up steals on inbound plays after made baskets. Add in her high basketball IQ, and it's easy to see why she was one of the most impactful players on the floor for Team 2.     Halle gave Team 2 a boost at the PGH Expo with her activity and versatility on the floor. She battled on the glass, pulling down offensive rebounds and converting them into second-chance points with strong finishes. With the ball in her hands, she showed the quickness and control to beat defenders off the dribble and get to the rim, while also proving she can stretch the floor by knocking down shots from deep. Her ability to both score and create plays made her a valuable piece for her team throughout the day.     Elise stood out as one of Team 2's top performers at the PGH Expo, bringing energy and grit every time she stepped on the court. As a point guard, she used her quick first step and speed to consistently put pressure on the defense, getting downhill and finishing plays—even when absorbing contact. She also showed range on her jumper, knocking down shots from beyond the arc to keep defenders honest. On the defensive end, Elise's toughness and relentless effort made her a problem for opposing guards, rounding out an impressive all-around performance.     Sophia made her presence felt for Team 2 at the PGH Expo with her size and skill on the perimeter. As a tall guard, she used her length effectively on defense, disrupting passing lanes and making it tough for opponents to get clean looks. On offense, she showed off a smooth shooting stroke, confidently knocking down shots from beyond the arc. Her combination of length, defense, and perimeter scoring gave her team an extra edge throughout the day.     Dimyah brought strength and toughness to Team 2 at the PGH Expo, anchoring the paint with her effort and physical play. She battled for rebounds on both ends of the floor, creating extra possessions on offense and limiting second-chance opportunities on defense. Her presence around the rim and commitment to working hard on the glass made her a steady contributor for her team throughout the day.     Sadie was a top performer for Team 2 at the PGH Expo, standing out with her pace and playmaking ability. She sprinted the floor in transition, turning hustle into easy scoring opportunities, and showed great awareness by pushing the tempo immediately after forcing turnovers. Around the basket, she displayed creativity—dropping in a smooth floater and keeping the ball away from shot-blockers to finish against length. She also stepped out to knock down a corner three, rounding out a versatile offensive performance that made her one of the most effective guards on the court.
