About Jaylei
How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
My gameplay style is aggressive and physical. I'm strong on the boards and love battling in the paint. Even though I'm not the tallest on the court I make up for it with effort, resilience, strength and toughness every possession.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
I am laid back but mentally tough. I stay calm under pressure and always compete. I'm easy to get along with and bring great energy both on and off the court.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
I've developed leadership and teamwork skills by always communicating on the court and keeping my teammates encouraged. I've also learned how to lead by example through my work ethic and attitude. Off the court, I like giving back and supporting others whether it's helping younger players or being involved in my community.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
I've faced challenges in the past being on teams that didn't believe in me, which affected my confidence. Joining the Bluejays changed that. My coach and teammates have pushed me to grow and reminded me of the player I can be. Their belief in me and the hard work we put in together has helped me gain my confidence back and play with purpose again.
What type of college are you looking for?
I am looking for a colleague that will off a full ride scholarship so I can complete my nursing studies while also giving me the chance to play the game I love. I want to be somewhere I can grow as a student athlete. A college that supports my academic goals and sees my effort on the court.
