I attended the Expo up in Appleton, Wisconsin. I'll begin going through a handful of teams that I watched play today and highlighting the players I observed throughout the morning and early afternoon. I thought it was a productive day, as I had the opportunity to meet some players from around the state, and I found it to be my most enjoyable Expo since attending the event for the first time in 2021. Today, we'll look at Team Seven and discuss the players from that unit.

Jordan Sauls

Sauls was a physical frontcourt player who had a solid showing in her time in the Fox Valley. Her ability to catch the ball in traffic around the basket forced defenders to collapse on her in the paint. I thought she used her size to control the area around the basket effectively, and when she had the ball with two feet in the paint. I also believe that she has room to grow as a player and find ways to continue developing her game with her remaining time at the high school level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1229361' first='Madi' last='Davel']

Davel is a player who I feel hasn't received the attention she deserves at the high school level yet. Davel has been a staple for a traditional power in the Cloverbelt Conference at Neillsville for the last few seasons. She's shown she can handle the ball and create for others, along with finding ways to create her own shot from anywhere on the floor. Davel shot the ball well and knocked down her fair share of perimeter jumpers in Appleton at the Expo. I thought she made good reads with the ball in her hands all day and showed she could facilitate at a high level as a lead guard. I'd recommend scholarship-level programs in the region to watch her play with Neillsville this winter if they have the time.

[player_tooltip player_id='874947' first='Sophia' last='Hanson']

Hanson shot the ball well from beyond the arc when I saw her play. She showed an ability to make plays with the ball in her hands on occasion with her 5v5 group. I also felt her confidence when she was on the floor. She believes in her abilities and makes plays with conviction on the offensive end of the floor. She was an intriguing player at The Expo and someone regional programs should look at during the winter season, if possible. She impressed me.
