The Expo: Team 7 Overview

Team 7 was well balanced and competitive. [player_tooltip player_id='748837' first='Taleah' last='Turner'] added polish and perimeter touch, while [player_tooltip player_id='1322127' first='Jadah' last='Secundino'] anchored the defense with discipline and hustle. [player_tooltip player_id='514545' first='Mariah' last='Young'] brought the experience and transition spark, [player_tooltip player_id='1220455' first='Peyton' last='Giguere'] provided spacing with her shooting, and [player_tooltip player_id='1035064' first='Sanae' last='Graham'] controlled the interior with strength and poise. Team 7 really played well and meshed together. Graham displayed some nice footwork and used her body well to create and space. .On defense, she boxed out early, communicated on rotations, and altered shots with force and aggression (especially in one of her games). Graham showed great composure and sportsmanship even during physical play. Her consistency and understanding of the game caught the attention of coaches in attendance. She wasn't flashy, but she was effective. Defensively, she anticipated plays before they happened, often intercepting passes and turning them into easy transition points. Sometime Gaines controlled tempo and was a play maker for her team. This was very apparent in transition where she led the break, forced the double-team and dished to her teammates for the bucket. Gaines also created her own offense when necessary, using her craftiness and speed to get downhill and finish through traffic. She attacked defenders off the dribble with confidence and an elite first step. King was crafty and had great body control to get to the rim. Her pull-up jumper was sharp and consistent, and she had the ability to score over defenders in traffic. King had a lot of bounce which enabled her to rebound aggressively from the guard spot. She had the ability to grab it and go. King was a fierce competitor who wanted the ball in big moments. Her mid-range game was consistent — particularly in transition, where she showed the ability to stop on a dime and knock down pull-ups. When she did take the reins at point guard, she pushed the tempo, initiated the offense, and created scoring chances for herself and teammates. She handled the ball with patience and was very skilled in the pick and roll. She had a quiet and calm demeanor, but her play was loud and clear. Turner is a crafty scorer who knew how to use the rim to protect her and finish with the reverse layup effortlessly. using the rein&nbsp; to protect her&nbsp; from the defender and a nice reverse layup. &nbsp; On defense she was good at switching assignments and showed her ability to cover a guard handling the ball or a big rolling to the rim. good job on the pick and role. Her pull-up jumper looked clean, and she knew how to find shooting space on the floor. She didn't force anything but stayed aggressive. She talked on defense and hustled back after every miss.
