Being a piece to your team's puzzle is important. Everyone has their jobs, no matter how big or small and those jobs need to be executed properly or all things could go to hell.

In this article we highlight five hoopers that will be pieces to their team's puzzle this Winter in some way!

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

Waverly High School is going to look for new producers this Winter with the loss of their main sources from years past due to graduation. Someone that should step up to play a pivotal role in their system is [player_tooltip player_id='1326439' first='Kenna' last='Kottman']. Kottman made her mark a little bit last year when she averaged just over 5 PPG with her time on the floor. Now that she is going to be looked at as a Senior leader, I'm sure that she will have the chances to produce from the start of the season. If she can step into one of those main roles early on, I'm sure she will be able to build on that moving forward.

Bennington High School is going to bring back most of their roster from last Winter when they went 22-5. Not only will they bring back most of their main producers, they will bring back these producers as mainly underclassman. Someone who is not an underclassman though, that should see some Varsity minutes once again this season is [player_tooltip player_id='1326440' first='Reese' last='Almquist'] at the PG position. In this system with the young talent they have it can be hard for guards to see big time each game. Everyone just has to make the most of every opportunity they receive and Almquist does that to a T. She steps in, doesn't force unneeded action or shots offensively, while being a sound defender overall. The Badgers should make it back to Lincoln once again come State Time this season and I'm hoping that Almquist can play an impactful part in that.

[player_tooltip player_id='757592' first='Sanai' last='Foster'] of Omaha - Westside High School will return this Winter as her team's main piece in the middle of the floor. Foster is a 6'2 PF with a smooth shooting stroke, athletic reach, soft touch on the basketball, and a lot of promise in other facets of the game. She put up some respectable numbers last season in PPG and on the glass on both ends but she will be looked upon to step it up over the next six months. Which, she could definitely do that. She just needs to stay hungry and she should feast for one more go-around.

[player_tooltip player_id='996569' first='Lilly' last='Harris'] will be the source for Homer High School this year as they try to follow up their 24-3 record from a year ago. Harris was the Knights second leading scorer while also being the team's leader in APG with 3.3. Harris is swift with her dribble. She knows that she can blow by most opponents and create for her teammates as long as they are looking for the pass. She also knows that she can take it all the way to the hoop with great body control as she attacks the lane. I think Harris could Will this team some places this upcoming season. She competes with a lot of energy so we will see how far that takes them.

I'm hoping that [player_tooltip player_id='988348' first='Daley' last='Pelican'] can take a big step this season and become more than just a shooter. Pelican has scored at a sound rate over the past two years while shooting 39% but I think she could continue that shooting as she also becomes more of a creator off the dribble. She holds her own in a lot of ways right now but if she can show that she has been working this off-season then she is going to have a lot of chances to show out over the next six months.

Being a piece to your team's puzzle is important. Everyone has their jobs, no matter how big or small and those jobs need to be executed properly or all things could go to hell.
