“Got Better 2” continues the theme — shining the spotlight on players who've made clear strides in their overall game from last year until now. When the clock struck zero last season, like numerous players across the state- these players went to work. They improved their shooting, handles, strength, and overall polish. They didn't improve overnight — they put in the time in the gym and got better.    [player_tooltip player_id='514627' first='Yamise' last='Haygood'] clearly got better over the off season. Her growth showed most in how comfortable she looked handling and finishing in transition at the PGH Expo. At the PGH Expo, "Haygood was way good". Her confidence was higher, and she was fierce and under control when attacking on the break. She's become a much more skilled guard — who can score the ball in multiple ways with craftiness and skill. She converted steals into easy buckets which has always been her specialty. But, it looked different and more deliberate - cleaner handles, better body control, improved finishing touch, and even more confidence as a play maker for teammates. Haywood's play on both ends reflects a player who's worked hard on her fundamentals. Already a good player - Haywood got better.     Conklin-Jones got better in all the subtle ways that separate good guards from better ones. Her command of pace and the ability to attack with a variety of shiftiness and hesitation was very much improved. The handles were as tight as anyone's handles at the Expo. Conklin-Jones also showed a nice touch on the jumper, runner, and floater. The young guard displayed some nice footwork from the guard position and utilized head fakes exceptionally well. The added confidence in her overall game opened the floor for her play making. You can tell she's been in the gym fine-tuning her overall game- she got better.     [player_tooltip player_id='221598' first='Trinity' last='Berry'] got better in the ball handling department and looked like a more confident different player with her ability to attack the rim. At the Gator for a Day Camp, Berry was confident and consistent from behind the three - neither a surprise. What stood out were her tighter handles and her ability to create separation and attack off the dribble. Her mid-range pull-up jumper and her stop-and-pop were very reliable and impressive at the camp. Berry looked poised, skilled, and in control. Berry's game now blended her shooting aggression with the threat of getting to the rim. Berry's game evolved over the summer and fall and she is poised to make noise this upcoming season. She evolved and got better.     Few players have shown more all-around improvement since last season than Rosalyn Weston. Weston is attacking the rim with purpose, shooting the three with confidence, and impacting the game- not just on offense, but on the defensive side of the Defensively, her intensity has gone to another level — she competes on every possession, plays the passing lanes aggressively, plays aggressive on the ball , and creates turnovers that lead to easy transition points. The growth in her confidence and consistency has been clear and her overall effectiveness as a player has improved - Weston got better.       [player_tooltip player_id='874197' first='Kareena' last='Ortiz'] got better as a shooter and shot creator. The left-handed jumper looked pure at the Flagler camps - smooth release, confident follow-through, and consistency from deep. Coaches were commenting on Ortiz's development. Her handles were sharp and she was very good at getting to the rim. and finishing strong. Not only was she a catch and shoot player, but generated offense of the dribble and attacking the rim. Her confidence and composure were evident - Ortiz got better.      [player_tooltip player_id='514544' first='Narissa' last='Blocton'] got better over the Fall and in subtle ways. She has always been a three level scorer, but the biggest difference over the Fall was her confidence. She stood out at both Flagler camps knocking down mid-range jumpers, shooting behind the arc, and scoring in transition. Her ability to score in transition is elite. She has a great sense of timing and anticipation and usually beats the opponent to the basket to score. biggest leap came in her shot confidence. Her development was noticeable and so was her length. She used her length to score over bigs and shoot over smaller guards. Add in improved communication and leadership, and you see a player who has matured both skill-wise and mentally- Blocton got better.     [player_tooltip player_id='515094' first='Dylande' last='Innocent'] got better over the summer and Fall and showed why she is one of the top forwards in the 2026 class. Her confidence, athleticism, and physicality stood out. The confidence that she played with over the summer showcased her game. Innocent's ability to score in the paint against forwards and bigs is what stood out. Her footwork and shooting touch stood out at the UNF Osprey camp. Her development was obvious: she played faster, smarter, and with a polished offensive touch - Innocent got better.
