MLK Day – Looking At Future Leaders

Martin Luther King was one of the most influential individuals in United States history. He was one of the greatest leaders to ever live. Martin Luther King had the ability to get others to follow his lead and to make positive change in the world. There is no better time than MLK Day, to take a look at positive young leaders in our communities. There are many gifted and intelligent young leaders in Michigan high school basketball. We should celebrate the young athletes that make our futures look brighter. <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/kadyn-blanchard/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/kadyn-blanchard/">Kadyn Blanchard</a></a> (2020, G, Freeland)</strong> Blanchard is already a leader in the classroom, on the court, and in life. She's the type of player and person that peers will follow. <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/deshonna-day-2/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/deshonna-day-2/">DeShonna Day</a></a> (2020, SG, Muskegon)</strong> Someday <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/deshonna-day-2/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/deshonna-day-2/">DeShonna Day</a></a> will do something amazing. That statement applies both on the court and off of it. Day is explosive when playing basketball and will dominate life in that same way. <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/gabrielle-elliott/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/gabrielle-elliott/">Gabrielle Elliott</a></a> (2020, Wing, Detroit Edison)</strong> Leaders have to work harder than everyone else. We already know that <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/gabrielle-elliott/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/gabrielle-elliott/">Gabrielle Elliott</a></a> is willing to do that. She's the backbone of top team nationally, and she will be the backbone of a community someday. <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/cameron-grant/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/cameron-grant/">Cameron Grant</a></a> (2020, PF, Macomb Dakota)</strong> Grant is a prime example of what being versatile accomplishes on the basketball court. She's just as versatile off the court and can lead her community in so many different ways. <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/hadley-miller/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/hadley-miller/">Hadley Miller</a></a> (2020, SF, Three Rivers)</strong> Miller is leaving a legacy behind her at Three Rivers. Not only is she breaking records, but she's leaving behind a path for other young ladies to follow. That's what leaders do. <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/lauren-ross/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/lauren-ross/">Lauren Ross</a></a> (2020, PG, Muskegon Reeths-Puffer)</strong> Ross is just starting to get the limelight that she's deserved for so long on the court as a steady lead guard and scorer. She will grab that limelight off the court immediately, and be a key to the success of whatever group she leads. <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/athena-samson/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/athena-samson/">Athena Samson</a></a> (2020, PF, Troy)</strong> Samson has shown so much growth and potential this season as a dominating post player. She has the same potential away from basketball. Samson leaves no doubt that she will reach that potential and be a key leader in her community. <strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/alize-tripp/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/alize-tripp/">Alize Tripp</a></a> (2020, SG, Michigan Center)</strong> Tripp is one of most aware and conscientious players around. She's that way off the court as well. Tripp will be a role model and leader for future generations. &nbsp;
