The OK White will have a much different look during the 2026-27 season after graduating a large portion of last year's top talent. Grand Rapids Catholic Central finished a perfect 12-0 in conference play to capture the OK White championship, but across the conference, eight of the 12 players who earned First Team All-Conference honors have now graduated. That leaves plenty of opportunity for returning players to step into larger roles and become the next group of names leading their teams this winter. While several familiar faces are back after making an impact a season ago, there are also players who could be ready to take another step forward with increased opportunities. With so much production needing to be replaced throughout the conference, the OK White should be an interesting race to follow. Here's a look at some of the returning talent ready to take the lead this season.

Payton returns for Grand Rapids Catholic Central after earning First Team All-Conference honors last season and helping the Cougars finish a perfect 12-0 in OK White play. The Grand Valley commit brings plenty of versatility to the floor, with the length and skill set to impact the game both inside and out. Payton can stretch the defense with legitimate range from behind the arc, but she is also comfortable putting the ball on the floor and attacking the basket. She does a good job of being patient, allowing driving lanes to develop and recognizing when to attack rather than forcing her way into traffic. Her length is also an asset defensively, where she can protect the basket and make things difficult for opponents around the rim. With her combination of perimeter shooting, ability to attack off the dribble and defensive versatility, Payton will be an important returning piece as Catholic Central looks to defend its OK White championship.

Molly returns for her junior season at Forest Hills Northern after earning First Team All-Conference honors and helping the Huskies finish second in the OK White last season. The talented wing already holds multiple Division I offers and brings a well-rounded skill set to both ends of the floor. I had the opportunity to watch Molly during the MBA Fall League, where she showed her ability to attack off the slash and use her strength to finish through contact around the basket. She can also establish position against defenders, contribute on the glass and stretch the floor by knocking down shots from behind the arc. Defensively, Molly uses active hands to disrupt possessions and can impact the game in multiple ways. With her combination of size, strength, perimeter shooting and versatility, Molly should once again be a major piece for Forest Hills Northern as the Huskies look to challenge for the top spot in the OK White this season.

Charley returns at point guard for Grand Rapids Christian after earning First Team All-Conference honors last season. The Eagles finished tied for third in the OK White, and Charley will be an important piece as they look to move up the conference standings this winter. She brings a nice combination of playmaking and shooting to the backcourt, creating opportunities for her teammates while also being capable of knocking down shots from behind the arc. Charley also makes an impact on the defensive end, where she is a pesky on-ball defender who can make things difficult for opposing guards. Her ability to run the offense, create for others, provide perimeter shooting and bring consistent defensive pressure gives Grand Rapids Christian an experienced point guard to build around. With so many of last year's First Team selections graduating, Charley enters the season as one of the proven returning players in the OK White.

Maddie returns for her sophomore season at Forest Hills Eastern after an impressive freshman year that saw her become the only freshman to earn First Team All-Conference honors in the OK White. The Hawks finished sixth in the conference last season, but Maddie gives them an exciting young piece to build around moving forward. Her length, athleticism and versatility allow her to play and defend multiple positions, while her burst off the dribble makes her a tough matchup when attacking downhill. Maddie also competes on the glass and uses her instincts and awareness defensively to get into passing lanes and create turnovers. I had the opportunity to watch her during the fall, where she also showed confidence as a perimeter shooter and knocked down open shots from behind the arc. After already establishing herself as one of the conference's best players as a freshman, Maddie enters her sophomore season with an opportunity to take another big step forward.

Maggie returns for her senior season at Forest Hills Northern after earning Honorable Mention All-Conference recognition last year. She gives the Huskies another experienced guard alongside Molly as they look to build on last season's second-place finish in the OK White. I had the opportunity to watch Maggie during the MBA Fall League, where she showed several different ways she can contribute. She was effective attacking downhill and putting pressure on the defense, while also showing the ability to stretch the floor by knocking down shots from behind the arc. Maggie also contributed on the glass, using her activity from the guard position to help secure possessions. Her ability to attack the basket, provide perimeter shooting and rebound gives Forest Hills Northern another versatile option in the backcourt. After the role she played a season ago and what I saw from her during the fall, I'm expecting Maggie to have a big senior season for the Huskies.
