Friday evening [player_tooltip player_id='643486' first='Jhaliana' last='Guy'] competed in her first game with her home-town Clinton High School team and man did she impress. Guy took the hardwood with confidence and made the stage her own with impressive scoring numbers, impressive rebounding numbers, & impressive defensive numbers. She finished things off with 36 points, a few rebounds, a few assists, and 6 steals. Throughout this showing Guy tied the Clinton High School record for points in a single-game, while shattering their three-point record as she made 10 of her 17 attempts from deep. It's also important to note that her team ended up winning the contest by around 30+, which is really what matters at the end of the day. All in all, the State of Iowa is quickly going to find out that Guy is the real deal. She should be a top producer throughout the state all Winter long. She just needs to stay motivated & who knows where she might take things.

Springville High School is going to be dominant this Winter once again because of their force in the middle - [player_tooltip player_id='595151' first='Rowan' last='Jacobi']. Jacobi is a South Daokota WBB commit and a heck of an athlete at her position. Jacobi isn't just tall at 6'2, she is very athletic and very intelligent when it comes to situational awareness within this game. She has a higher motor than most, always producing in the paint on both offense and defense. In her first showing off the season, Jacobi helped out Springville with 27 Points & 13 Rebounds, along with a few blocks, steals, & even an assist or two. Jacobi is in a prime position to put together another memorable year in the 1A Class. She should be in the conversation for POTY in that Class but we will just have to wait and see what she can put together over the next six months for her last go around at the high school level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1418285' first='Tallisen' last='Hysell'] jumped onto the Varsity floor this weekend and made some magic with her creating ability. Hysell has only played one game so far this season but in that game she recorded 11 Points, 11 Assists, & 6 Steals. In the end, her Moravia team might have fallen short but it wasn't due to a lack of effort out of Hysell. She did her thing and tried to get everyone around her in the action whenever plausible. She also demonstrated that she can score at a thorough rate at the bucket herself off of the dribble while attacking if others can't get open. There is a lot to like out of Hysell. If she can keep up numbers like this all Winter long, she will be someone we hear more and more about moving into 2026.

[player_tooltip player_id='1091292' first='Kamryn' last='Fink'] of Highland High School stepped onto the Varsity floor last Winter and made her mark as their best overall player as a Freshman. This season Fink is returning for her Sophomore season and she is ready to build on what she has put in place in the past. Throughout Fink's two Varsity games this past weekend, she averaged 15 PPG, 10 RPG, 5 APG, & 5 SPG while leading her team to a 1-1 record overall. If you couldn't tell, Fink is going to be someone we hear about over the next three years because of her production at Highland. She is going to continuously put up some noteworthy numbers and that should help her team win several games over her high school career.

[player_tooltip player_id='833966' first='Lizzy' last='Frazell'] is a slept on prospect out of Waverly-Shell Rock High School. Frazell, a 5'11 CG/SF, is extremely active on and off of the ball. She has that mixture of size, skill, and athletic ability that all coaches love to work with. In Frazell's first showing of the season she recorded double digits in points, while really standing out as a defensive threat more than anything else truthfully. Frazell finish that first game with 5 Blocks, currently ranking her second in the entire state for BPG. When the opposing team tried to attack the basket, Waverly's defense stepped up and made their mark next to Frazell on a consistent basis. If they keep this up as a group, this will be a tough one to stop this Winter.
