It was a quiet night on the Michigan high school basketball schedule, but those that played made the results speak loudly. There were some very strong prospect performances last night. We will take a look at some of these standout players.
<strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/athena-samson/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/athena-samson/">Athena Samson</a></a> (2020, F/C, Troy)</strong>
Samson notched yet another double-double, which seems to be a regularity. She had 10 points and 14 rebounds in a 65-40 win over Athens. Samson continues to show her potential as a well rounded post player.
<strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/kali-heivilin/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/kali-heivilin/">Kali Heivilin</a></a> (2021, PF, Three Rivers)</strong>
Heivilin is nothing short of a superstar athlete. She's committed to Alabama for softball already. But don't forget about her as a basketball player. Heivilin dropped in 22 points last night in a victory.
<strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/mya-hiram/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/mya-hiram/">Mya Hiram</a></a> (2021, PF, Onsted)</strong>
Breaking school records is a big deal. When you do it as a junior, it can be eye popping. well, that's what Hiram did breaking a 26 year old Onsted career rebounding mark. Hiram now has a school best 643 boards.
<strong>Ashley Loon (2022, SG, Berkley)</strong>
Loon has arrived as a player and a next level prospect. She's an excellent shooter and defenses are keying on her. Loon is getting used to it as evidenced by her 17 point performance on Wednesday night.
<strong>Maddy Skorupski (2022, PG, Clarkston)</strong>
Skorupski is a talented young guard in the Clarkston program. She was critical in her team's 58-50 win over Southfield last night. Skorupski ended the contest with 18 points and was efficient as a floor general.
<strong>Adelyn Moore (2023, G/F, Caro)</strong>
Moore is a freshman with big time skills and potential. She is incredibly versatile as a 3 level scorer and having the ability to effectively guard multiple positions. Moore had a triple-double scoring 22 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out 10 assists.
<strong>Olivia Vanderham (2021, Roseville)</strong>
Vanderham was the offensive spark plug in a defensive battle. She had 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 blocks in a 38-20 win over Fitzgerald.
<strong><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/olivia-kubik/"><a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/olivia-kubik/">Olivia Kubik</a></a> (2021, PG, Henry Ford II)</strong>
Kubik was great at the lead guard position last night. She led the way with 18 points and 6 assists in a win over Chippewa Valley.
