Most people feel that the champions will come through this region again this season, and two of those contenders come out of Brookville. Tri Village and Franklin Monroe are the top two seeds at this site, and will look to battle their way out to the districts in a couple of weeks.

#9 Tri County North vs #2 Frankin Monroe 11:00- Franklin Monroe comes into the game with one of the top 2020s in Ohio, as 6-0 wing Corina Conley Corina Conley 6'0" | C Franklin Monroe High School | 2020 State OH had led the Jets to a 20 win season. Conley has great ball skills, can play inside/out, and consistent from the three. Belle Cable is another senior guard who is known for her three-point shooting, while senior Aubrey Cable is a solid defender, good handles and a leader. Chloe Peters is yet another senior who can hit the big shot and Stella Shellebarger is a much-improved guard. The winner of this game will get #8 Newton in the second round as the Indians took an opening round bye.
#7 Covington vs #5 Catholic Central 12:30- Covington sophomore Claudia Harrington is developing into a solid prospect after leading the Buccs to a .500 season. They will have a tough opener as they battle a 14-6 Central team with three double figure scorers. 5-8 junior Abbigail Peterson is avergaing 15 ppg, and is floor leader for this team. Can get to the rim and score or shoot from beyond the arc. Sophomore Mallory Mullen Mallory Mullen 6'0" | PF Springfield Catholic Central | 2022 OH is a 6-foot post who is working to become a better post presence. She is working on her footwork and is a solid rebounder. Sophomore Serenity Castle is a 5-9 wing who also can score, and is a solid all-around player. The winner of this game returns to play #6 Yellow Springs who brings in soph guard Angie Smith Angie Smith 5'6" | CG Yellow Springs | 2022 State OH , who scored her 1,000th point this year and is averaging 21.8 points and seven rebounds per game.
#11 Jefferson vs #1 Tri-Village 2:00- Jefferson has improved a little bit over last year, but is still 0-18 on the season and struggles to score. Freshman Tahnez Herron is averaging 16.4 points per game, but the team is only averaging 26. This one will get ugly early with the weapons that 21-1 Tri Village brings into the game. Leading the way is 6-1 senior Maddie Downing Maddie Downing 6'1" | C Tri-Village High School | 2020 OH (Edison State commit) who is averaging 16.7 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 65% from the field, while freshman Rylee Sagester Rylee Sagester 5'6" | CG Tri Village | 2023 State OH is the leading scorer with 17.6 points per game. She also has 88 3s on the season. Freshman Morgan Hunt Morgan Hunt 5'10" | PF Tri Village | 2023 State OH comes in at 14.1 points with Lissa Siler and Meghan Downing Meghan Downing 6'2" | C Tri Village | 2022 State OH around 7 ppg. The winner of this game returns to play East Dayton Christian in round two.

#4 Bradford vs #3 Troy Christian 7:30- This game is a second-round matchup because both teams took a bye in the opening round. Bradford has put together a solid season with 14 wins, and will boast one of the area’s top basketball players and athletes in Austy Miller Austy Miller 5'6" | CG Bradford | 2022 OH . The 5-7 sophomore guard can score in bunches and is capable of being a threat all over the court. Can shoot the three, or get to the rim. Troy Christian brings in 6-0 senior Sarah Earhart at 11.6 points and Morgan Taylor, a junior averaging more than seven. They will miss sophomore post Sarah Johnson who is out for injury.
