Aquinas
Aquinas is currently 20-1 overall and ranked number one in the state. With an undefeated conference record, Aquinas has been blowing out teams this season. With a high tempo offense and multiple girls scoring in double figures, Aquinas is the prospective state champion.
Lexi Donarski | Senior
The Iowa State commit and McDonald’s All American has led her team this entire season. She is an offensive specialist and does a great job at creating space for her shot. She has a sick pull up three pointer and will with a defender in her face. Donarski sees the floor exceptionally well and with all the defensive pressure she receives, she finds ways to pass to her open teammates. Donarski is averaging 24 points and 7 assists per game. In a most recent win over Tomah, she dropped 25 points.
Taylor Theusch | Senior
The 5’7 guard is averaging 14.2 points per game. She has been a key player this season for Aquinas’ success. She has really improved her outside shooting stroke this season and is now a 42% three point shooter. She runs the floor well and is super athletic. Theusch had her season-high 22 points in a win over Sparta. Theusch is committed to Division II Minnesota State Mankato.
Courtney Becker | Senior
Becker is a 6’0 forward who has been essential this season. Her size and strength inside have been tough for other teams to defend her. She averages 13.8 points and 9 rebounds per game. Becker uses her size and quickness so well inside getting offensive rebounds. She grabs multiple offense rebounds per game that lead to put back poins. Becker has a really nice inside out game with Donarski. Becker is committed to Bradley University.
Racine Lutheran
Leading the Metro Classic conference and ranked second in the state is Racine Lutheran. With an undefeated 22-0 record, Racine Luthern has shown how tough they are as a team. They average 77.3 points per game as a team and get up and down the court a lot.
Caroline Strande | Senior
Averaging 36.1 points per game, Strande is one of the top scorers in the state this season. She’s quick, she’s consistent and a super impressive player to watch. The 5’11 guard has exceptional handles that make for an effective dribble drive. In a win ove Wilmot, Strande scored her season-high 45 points. A true scorer, Strande is one to watch going into playoffs.
Morgann Gardner | Junior
The 6’1 forward has become a player to watch this season. One of the craftier post players I’ve watched this season, Gardner knows how to score the basketball. She is a true post player and knows how to find position both offensively and defensively. Gardner is averaging 16.1 points per game. Gardner will step outside and nail a three-pointer as well, she has 22 on the season. Gardner also averages 7.5 rebounds per game.
Melrose- Mindoro
Ranked number one in the Dairyland conference, the team has gone undefeated in conference play. The team is 15-0 and 21-1 overall. Melrose- Mindoro averages nearly 70 points per game as a team.
Mesa Byom | Senior
The 6’3 forward is leading her team in scoring and in rebounding this season. She is averaging 17.3 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Byom is an offensive rebounding specialist with over 100 on the season and counting. She’s quick in transition and has a lot of guard-like attributes. Byom has developed more confidence in her three-point shooting as well. Byom is committed to South Dakota State.
Emily Herzberg | Senior
Another post player with size is 6’0 forward, Emily Herzberg. She does just about everything right for her team. She is averaging 16.3 points per game, 6.6 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game. In a victory over Eleva- Strum, Herzberg dropped 24 points and had 8 boars. Herzberg has also been stepping outside and hitting down some big shots on the perimeter. She is committed to South Dakota State.
