Barlow transfer and three-level scorer [player_tooltip player_id='1005370' first='Adia' last='Fancher'] showed strong chemistry with her new teammates on Day 1. The sophomore led the Bruins in scoring with 23 points in three quarters at the Lakeridge Jamboree. She was composed on the bounce, pushing the pace and displaying excellent court vision. She was a shooting threat from deep and glided to the rim for an athletic finish multiple times. One of her best moments was when she committed to a step-back midrange jumper but instead dished the ball to fellow sophomore Sienna Courter, who was wide open on the block for an easy bucket. Fancher made plays all over the court. She rebounded on both ends, defended on and off the ball, contained the perimeter, and protected the rim. She picked passes and finished fastbreak layups, one through contact and the foul. But she also knew when to slow it down, manage the clock, and control the game. The sophomore guard looks ready for 6A.

Senior [player_tooltip player_id='486480' first='Charlotte' last='Conyers'] was an athletic two-way point guard and three-level scorer who led the Pacers with 23 points in 3 quarters at the Lakeridge Jamboree. Conyers was speedy on the bounce and consistently blew by the pressure defense to go coast to coast. She had a quick first step to beat her defender on the perimeter and finish at the rim. She's a fast-twitch athlete who can deliver the quick assist. She's the kind of shooter who can drain a pull-up three and a deep two in transition. She knocked down the step back three as well. She was perfect from the free-throw line. She consistently pushed the pace and made plays in transition. She's also a tough on-ball defender. Conyers looks like she will be a leader for Lakeridge this season.

Barlow junior [player_tooltip player_id='839057' first='Marlie' last='Williams'] is stepping into a leadership role in her third season playing for the Bruins. The 5-foot-9 forward has a strong frame to battle inside, but can also step out to hit from three-point range. Williams scored 18 points in 3 quarters at the Lakeridge Jamboree. She consistently ran the floor and scored in transition. She was dangerous on multiple baseline inbound plays. She was strong with the ball and used a smart physicality to create open looks at the basket. She knocked down the pull-up middy from the bounce on the elbow. She found open space on the perimeter to knock down a couple of catch-and-shoot three-pointers. She rebounded and protected the paint. Barlow will look to Williams as a leader and strong presence inside this season.

Allison Shamoon is another third-year player that Barlow is relying on as a leader to set the tone early for the Bruins this season. The 5-foot-9 junior was the glue player for her team, tallying 10 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals in 3 quarters at the Lakeridge Jamboree. Shamoon was solid at the point, pushing the pace with great handles and vision. All of her points came from finishing at the rim and the free-throw line, and she created a lot of offense out of defense. Shamoon was a strong and physical defender with quick hands on and off the ball. She hunted passing lanes, picked handlers, and forced jump balls. She battled in the air for defensive rebounds and on the ground for loose balls. She made the help-side block. Shamoon is an under-the-radar competitor and one to watch in the Mt. Hood Conference this season.

Lakeridge guard [player_tooltip player_id='1321458' first='Kaylee' last='Bjorkgren'] is a high-IQ player with a pure stroke, and she's just getting started. The freshman was a three-level scorer and netted 13 points in 3 quarters at the Lakeridge Jamboree. She's the daughter of Nate Bjorkgren, assistant coach of the Portland Trailblazers. You can tell she is a coach's kid and a student of the game because she was ready to go on Day 1. The freshman ran the point with great vision and passing, and moved really well off the ball. She knocked down the catch-and-shoot three and the deep pull-up middy, drove inside and finished at the rim, and scored in transition. She sold shot fakes and made crisp passes. She ran the floor and knew where to be on both ends of the court. She was a solid defender on and off the ball, helped, and ran back on defense to stop fast breaks. She was steady and didn't hang her head or try to do too much when her team was behind. Bjorkgren will stand out in the competitive Three Rivers League this season.

Sunset junior [player_tooltip player_id='837701' first='Kalli' last='Gallagher'] led the Apollos in scoring with 15 points in 3 quarters at the Lakeridge Jamboree. The 5-foot-4 point guard is strong on the drive with great handles and vision. She had a quick first step on the perimeter and attacked the rim through traffic. She effectively spun and euro-stepped in the paint. She consistently pushed the pace on the bounce in transition and found the pass or went coast to coast for the layup. Most of her points were scored at the basket or the free-throw line. She was feeling it in the game against Cleveland and hit a deep step-back two late in the shot clock to tally 9 points that quarter. Gallagher is a competitor to watch in the competitive Metro League.
