The St. Thomas pledge is the straw that stirs the City High drink. The talented combo guard initiates offense on most possessions, demanding defensive attention well beyond the arc with her extensive shooting range. When defenders push up on her, a slick handle can still shake her free for the sliver daylight needed to squeeze off a trey. It also aids her in dribbling by the opponent with either hand. Driscoll sees the court well, allowing her to find open teammates after collapsing the defense. She's also improved her strength, which allows for finishing at the rim through contact. Driscoll is a smart defender not prone to reaching. She slides her feet in staying in front of the ball and understands angles. Through the first four games this season, Driscoll was 18 of 36 on three-pointers, knocking down seven in a win at Ames.

It's hard imaging there are many better two-way players in the state than Galloway. Her length, agility and athleticism give her uncommon versatility. That's especially true on defense, where she can effectively guard all five positions. Galloway locks down on the perimeter with lateral quickness that allows her to cut off dribble penetration. She's strong on the block, too. Long arms and timing lead to swatched shots. Many of the attempts she doesn't get her hands on are altered. Galloway's flexibility also manifests itself on offense, where she initiates sets as a point forward, knocks down treys from the wing and operates in the post. Simply put, Galloway is a match-up nightmare on both ends of the court.

A multi-sport standout, much of Loria's success results from her being a little bit more athletic and skilled than the opponent. Added strength has complemented that skill set this year. It allows her to finish more consistently at the rim and operate in the post against smaller defenders. If the opposition puts a bigger defender on her, Loria can pull her out to the perimeter as a three-point threat or in breaking down the defense with dribble penetration. The skill set enables for guarding multiple positions, too. Loria is well schooled in the game, technically sharp with a high hoops IQ.

Miller was still working herself back into shape following a preseason injury during the early part of the 2025-26 campaign, but looked like she found her footing in a matchup with Marion in Game 5. Miller displays sound form on her three-point shot, especially when in rhythm. If she can find that consistently this year, there will be plenty of open looks with proven players around her drawing the defense's attention. Miller handles the ball well and finds open teammates. She can get to the rim off of the bounce and has the length to operate in the post versus shorter defenders.

Toughness is the first trait that stands out when it comes to Bowen-Burt. She will stick her nose into the action, no matter where it is on the court. Standing in physically results in positive results, especially on defense. In an early-season win against Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Bowen-Burt's spark off of the bench proved critical to achieving victory. Her shooting range stretches beyond the arc. Bowen-Burt can take defenders off of the bounce and a willingness to absorb contact helps her finish at the rim, draw fouls or both.
