The surprising part of things is how Driscoll is leading by example and helping the City High program win some meaningful games against other ranked opponents. Driscoll won’t compete at the D1 level to start her college career but she might be able to end there if she works hard enough and is put into the right situational early on, on the collegiate floor. For right now, IC City High is a team to watch out for moving into the Post season. If you don’t prep correctly, they are going to be beat with strategy and experience. Like we’ve already seen a number of times this Winter season.

The St. Thomas pledge is the straw that stirs the City High drink. The talented combo guard initiates offense on most possessions, demanding defensive attention well beyond the arc with her extensive shooting range. When defenders push up on her, a slick handle can still shake her free for the sliver daylight needed to squeeze off a trey. It also aids her in dribbling by the opponent with either hand. Driscoll sees the court well, allowing her to find open teammates after collapsing the defense. She’s also improved her strength, which allows for finishing at the rim through contact. Driscoll is a smart defender not prone to reaching. She slides her feet in staying in front of the ball and understands angles. Through the first four games this season, Driscoll was 18 of 36 on three-pointers, knocking down seven in a win at Ames.

She is also leading the team in APG with 3, demonstrating that she is working on becoming a better passer to those open teammates around her. Usually when we have spoken about Driscoll in the past, we have talked about her lights out shooting ability from deep but a key for her to be successful in college is that she expands onto her game, so this is promising to see first hand. The City Hawks are looking top notch to kick things off this Winter. If they stay on track, they should surprise some teams before moving into the Playoffs in 2026.

Driscoll is a SG with a flame thrower from deep. She is very good in the aspects of letting it go from behind the arch off the catch, while also having the ability to do that from off the dribble as well. Driscoll has been one of the state’s premier shooters in year’s past and she is looking to finish off her high school career with a bang over these next six months. With this commitment, a lot of pressure lifts off her shoulders so now she is can just lock in and enjoy making the most out of her Senior season in Iowa City.

Driscoll, a 5’8 SG, really lives up to the name of her position on the floor – Shooting Guard. Driscoll has make it rain from deep and it doesn’t take much. When scouting her shooting ability, she is really at her best off of the catch on screen action. When she does that, the shot is pretty accurate. She also possesses the ability to shoot off the dribble but she is hand down better on the catch, just like most shooters. This ability is going to get her on a college roster and eventually, on the floor.

TD has been on fire the past few weeks, grabbing two recent collegiate offers to compete at the next level. As of the other day, Driscoll grabbed a D2 offer to Truman State out of MO. This is someone that has an impressive shooting stroke, an act for being in the right place at the right time, she is coordinated on both ends, while being a solid teammate to those around her. On the Varsity floor the past couple of seasons at IC – City High she has been a constant and that won’t change over the next 8 months. For now, this is great offer to have moving into the Live month of July.

She is a better than average SG with a quick release, lengthy arms, and a solid understanding of her own ability. She can also put the ball on the floor if she is overplayed on a shot, to get to other spots that might favor her offensive attempt a little bit better. IC – City High has Linn-Mar on Tuesday night and I expect them to come out victorious with Driscoll having a solid outing. The Lions just don’t have enough fire power to deal with the Little Hawks in reality but you still have to play the game so as long as everyone comes prepared, it should be a good showing.

IC – City High is going to surprise a lot of people this Winter at the Varsity level. This has always been a competitive group but they have now had everything fall into place, that should help lead them to a big Playoff run this time around. Someone at their SG position that is going to be an important piece to their puzzle is Tess Driscoll. Driscoll can light it up from deep in a hurry, she isn’t bad at putting it on the ground, and she understands what is a good shot, compared to a bad one. This team is going to be so hard to beat because of how many weapons they have. They can kill you in all sorts of ways and I’m sure they are excited to show off that ability in a few short days to kick off their season.

During AAU season, Driscoll competed with her All Iowa Attack EYBL team and she usually showed out in one way or another. During high school ball, it’s a lot of the same thing. She competes with a tough City High Little Hawks program and she usually always producers during her contests in the scoring, rebounding, defending, and assisting categories. She does have a very ball dominant PG leading their team so everyone else has to be a creature of opportunity and I think Driscoll does a good job of that. In this 2026 Update, she moves up a few rankings moving into the Fall, with even more room to grow looking forward.
