In Memphis, there was a high school that had several students scoring in the 30s on the ACT each year. They would recognized the students on their outdoor sign with their name and ACT score. It inspired me to recognize players in Memphis that scored 30 or more points in the game. I called it the 30/30 Club.

The first year 10 players scored over 30 points. Then it exploded to players scoring in the 30s, 40s and even over 50 points in a game.

I think there is no better time than now to recognize players that have scored 30 or more points in a game:

The first member to join the 30/30 Club for the 25-26 season is Austin Peay Signee, Fran Kelly. She scored 32 points vs Middle College in her very first game with Collierville High School. She knocked down 8 three pointers in that game. I travelled to Collierville to watch their game against Central. What I noticed, she isn't relying solely on the 3 point shot. She did hit 3 threes in a row against Central. However, she also would use a shot fake and attack to shoot the mid range shot or get to the basket.

I was actually at this game when Jordan scored 30 points. It was during the second round of the MLK Tournament against Bellevue. Unfortunately, I did not chart her in that game. But I will from now on. If you haven't seen Jordan play since last season, get ready to be surprised by how tall she has gotten. She was a high energy player last year that could get to the basket. Now, she is a scorer with a quick release. She gets off a lot of shots in a variety of ways: 3 pointer, pull up, floater, at the basket and at the free throw line. She has also had a 29 point game this season.

Isabella is another 7th grader. Isabella missed making the 30/30 Club by 2 points. She scored 28 against Kate Bond in their first home game of the season. She knocked down 4 threes in that game. I was actually at this game. She played more of a scoring point guard role in that game. Since then, she has been playing more off the ball and in a scorers role.
