Expert Analysis
Evan Bell | Prep Girls Hoops Scout
Fowlerville is another one of those programs that has an exciting future ahead. They have a great group of young, talented, and passionate basketball players in their program. Marissa was solid for the Gladiators throughout Michigan Jam Live 3v3. She muscled into position to secure rebounds on the offensive end and went up strong to score putbacks. Marissa converted catch-and-finish layups off two feet and drove to the rim with determination, using both hands to score a layup. She rotated to pick off a pass from the help side, demonstrated excellent footwork around the basket, and earned multiple trips to the line after driving hard to the basket. Marissa will be a matchup problem for opponents this winter.

Marissa is one of Fowlerville’s most promising prospects, and she’ll be an athletic forward who turns some heads at Michigan Jam Live 3v3. She has the confidence to step outside and drain the open three or play bully ball and score through contact in the post. Marissa is a productive rebounder, has good hands in the post, and can create space to shoot in the mid-range. Her ability to screen and roll or pick and pop should give the Gladiators a spark on Sunday. Marissa will have some tough matchups inside, and she looks ready for the challenge.

Marissa made a great first impression during a high school game for Fowlerville as a freshman. She continued to show her next-level potential at AAU practice and tournaments during the spring. Marissa can play the dunker role inside effectively, but she also has the versatility to create space off the dribble and sink threes. She’s an athletic forward with length who will be an integral part of the Gladiators’ lineup.

Marissa is a mobile forward with an athletic build, length, and versatile skills that are difficult for traditional bigs to match up against. She showed an element to her game that I hadn’t seen before by sinking shots from the outside. Marissa swished a three from the slot and drained multiple catch-and-shoot threes from the corner. She scored a tough layup with a high rip move in traffic. Marissa caught passes in the paint with soft hands and converted multiple layups. She buried a long jumper off a filthy between-the-legs crossover step-back dribble and went back to the well for another long jumper off a step-back move. Marissa was active on the boards and dished out an assist after grabbing an offensive rebound. She had a solid practice and will be a key player in the lineup again for Fowlerville this winter.
