Competing with non-stop energy, effort, and aggression is a great way to separate yourself on the court. Maci was one of the hardest workers in the gym, and her all-around impact caught my attention at Michigan Jam Live 3v3. I made a note of her aggressiveness, and her defensive pressure was relentless on the perimeter. Maci tied up the ball in the post, outworked the opponent to secure many offensive rebounds, made the extra pass, scored off backdoor cuts, and forced the defense to put her on the free-throw line. Maci knocked down open jumpers and made the right plays. Brighton has a solid core of returners with their upperclassmen and sophomore returners. They’re going to be very competitive in the KLAA West and a tough team to beat.

Maci stepped up for Brighton during the OT tournament and was a consistent producer for the Bulldogs throughout the Northwood Team Camp. She applied good ball pressure on the perimeter and moved her feet quickly to keep guards contained. She made smart reads and finished well in the paint off basket cuts. Maci crashed the boards to secure rebounds aggressively on both ends, scanned the floor in transition, and dished out accurate passes effectively as a facilitator. She’s a threat from three and drained a triple from the wing. Maci attacked downhill to earn free throws and knocked them down at the line. She converted contested layups in traffic comfortably with her right and left, making good transfers while running full speed in transition. Maci changed hands well to penetrate off the dribble and is on the verge of a breakout sophomore campaign.

Macie impressed with her play and leadership at Michigan Pure practice. She shouted verbal encouragement to a teammate during a three-point shooting drill and actively communicated by pointing and talking on the court. Macie switched hands comfortably off the dribble, scored efficiently around the basket with her right and left hands, and converted layups well off two feet. Maci used her length, active hands, and aggressive instincts on the defensive end to cause turnovers. She ripped the ball away, deflected passes, moved quickly laterally to put guards in a box, and was very effective in the run and jump on the perimeter. During the 1v1 segment, Macie didn’t get fooled by a shot fake, anticipated the pivot, and slid into position to block the shot. She swatted another shot attempt with a high hand and got by with a burst off the dribble to score a tough veer layup with her left. Macie drove hard into the defense, absorbed the contact, then finished the contested layup off two feet. She continued to excel during 5v5, scoring layups in transition, sinking a smooth wing three, and disrupting passes with her active hands. Maci led the team in free-throw percentage, converting 9 of 10 from the line, and came one shot shy of the group lead with 21 straightaway threes during a drill. She used a nice high-rip eurostep move for a bucket in the basket-finishing drills and turned in a complete performance at practice. Maci made a lasting impression and looks ready for a breakout sophomore campaign at Brighton.

Maci, a guard for Michigan Pure, turned in a strong performance at the Battle in the Mitten, showcasing her ability to create and compete on both ends. She handled the ball with confidence and did a great job finding seams in the defense, attacking the lane with purpose. Maci displayed her touch around the basket with creative finishes, including a smooth euro-step and a soft floater. On the defensive side, she brought energy and intensity, working hard to disrupt opposing guards and make an impact. Her all-around effort helped her stand out over the weekend.
