Game Changers: 2028 Edition

North Carolina is deep in the high school season already and gearing up for some holiday tournaments. There's a number of players who have already been making their impact known, but these athletes are true game changers whether it's shifting the momentum, packing the stat sheet, or being the energy that their team needs in each game. Here's the 2028 edition.    [player_tooltip player_id='1230295' first='Za'Miya' last='Bynum'] is a special kind of talent that's already been catching the eyes of high major colleges in her short high school career. Her shiftiness with the ball is fun to watch as she blows by defenders, and she can pull up quickly knocking down her shot from anywhere on the court. She finds the gaps on defense where she explodes in them to score some points of her own or makes the pass in between defenders hitting her teammates in stride.     [player_tooltip player_id='1120329' first='Sophie' last='Montana'] has been showing off her ball handling for years, and she's stepped up in high school making it known she has range shooting the ball. Her ability to create her own space around the perimeter with her ball handling is definitely an asset as she shoots off the dribble or does the work without the ball to get open to shoot off the pass. She directs her teammates where to go to get some plays going as she sees the floor well thinking ahead to make sure her team gets some points.     [player_tooltip player_id='1230304' first='Rreanna' last='Johnson'] shows off her speed whenever she gets to play both laterally and up and down the court. She can close out quickly on shots to block them on defense, and she picks the pocket of her opponents taking steals the other direction for fast breaks. She'll get inside grabbing rebounds on both ends of the court. She has a nice shot from around the perimeter, too, showing off some range shooting the ball.     [player_tooltip player_id='1253823' first='Makayla' last='Bobo'] plays with such toughness attacking the basket driving from around the perimeter losing her defenders to bank it off the glass. She does well anticipating what her opponents are going to do while she's playing defense jumping in front of passes to grab the steal and explode to the other end of the court. She's smart making the right pass to her teammates when defenders crash around her.
