The class of 2021 rankings have been updated and there have been a handful of players that have seen their stock rise. Oftentimes, stock risers are players outside of the top 50 that play their way into the top 50, moving up several slots, but this update is a little bit different. More so than any other class in the state, there has been a lot of changes and movement in the top 25. The players listed below saw their ranking jump quite a bit after a strong high school season.

One of the state’s most accomplished players in the class at the high school level as far as numbers and awards go, but she really impressed this season. Hughes has always been great around the basket for put backs, rebounds and hustle plays, but she expanded her game some in two key areas. 1) Her free throw shooting improved and 2) she showed more of a willingness to shoot the short-mid range jumper. The star of Woodinville plays to her strengths and doesn’t stray too far from those strengths, but seeing her improvement in those two areas of the game helped her rise her ranking from number 11 to number 3.

2021 5’10 SF [player_tooltip player_id="85877" first="MJ" last="Bruno"] (Central Valley HS)

A big time stock riser this Winter who I started to see great improvement from this Fall, actually. Her outside shot is taking steps in the right direction and her becoming a threat from the perimeter, on top of her drive game, makes her a really difficult matchup. This is still an area I’d like to continue to see improve, but she is capable of keeping the defense honest now. Bruno committed to Portland and played her junior season stress free, while leading the Bears to a 4A state title. She has always been a tenacious rebounder and defender and with her offensive game catching up, she rightfully blew up from the 25th slot to number 7.

Yet another player with multiple Division 1 offers that I saw improvement from this season. Bergstrom’s mobility and length up and down the court as a 6’2 center, to go along with some throwback post moves is refreshing to see. She is equally impactful on both sides of the ball and holds offers from schools such as EWU, Southern Utah and UC San Diego with several others in contact. I liked what I saw from her at the state tourney and her ranking slot rose from number 18 to number 9. With the latest update, Bergstrom is ranked as the highest center in the state for the 2021 class.

2021 5’11 SF [player_tooltip player_id="82926" first="Jaydia" last="Martin"] (Hudson’s Bay HS)

A player that has gotten better every year throughout her high school career. Martin is strong, athletic and aggressive. She did not play her best at the state tournament, but she put together one of the best seasons out of everyone in her region of southern Washington. She operates well out of the high post and excels as a slasher. Martin moved up 9 slots to number 11 and she could end up higher when it is all said and done.

2021 6’3 C [player_tooltip player_id="82943" first="Aspen" last="Garrison"] (Sehome HS)

A developing post prospect that continues to get better each season that goes by. Garrison provides superior length at 6’3 and she has enough skill that her high school team runs a lot of its offense through her. She made first team all league as a junior and steadily showed improvement. Sehome’s star made the biggest jump in the rankings going from number 41 to number 16 overall and the number 3 player at the center position.

2021 5’7 PG [player_tooltip player_id="82937" first="Andie" last="Zylak"] (Lewis and Clark HS)

A skilled point guard that plays with a lot of energy and passion for the game. Zylak has steadily progressed year by year and has some Division 1 attention as a result. She can shoot it off the bounce, create her own shot and score in transition. A few of her stat lines this season were superb. After a strong junior season, Zylak moved up from number 35 to 17.

2021 6’0 SF [player_tooltip player_id="82936" first="Molly" last="Moffitt"] (Seattle Prep HS)

A real standout performer for the Seattle Prep Panthers this season. Moffitt is a player that stays in attack mode and it paid off for her by the end of the season as she played well in the state tournament and garnered 1st Team All Metro League honors. Moffitt jumped from 34 to number 18.[caption id="attachment_158325" align="alignright" width="200"] [player_tooltip player_id="82947" first="Alivia" last="Stephens"]- Issaquah HS[/caption]

2021 5’11 PF [player_tooltip player_id="82947" first="Alivia" last="Stephens"] (Issaquah HS)

A strong, yet bouncy forward that can do a little of everything with her ability to play in transition or operate out of the high post. Stephens had a really strong junior season for Issaquah, leading them to the state tournament and performing well. A big Summer could be life changing for her and she will have some college options. Stephens slid up 16 spots to number 30.

2021 5’6 CG [player_tooltip player_id="82957" first="Devynn" last="Warns"] (Liberty HS)

A strong and sturdy combo guard that had a great junior season after sitting out her sophomore year with a knee injury. Warns is an aggressive play maker and really competes on both sides of the ball. Going from sidelined to winning MVP of the league is no easy feat, but she did that. As a result, she made a massive leap from number 59 to 36th in the state, with room for growth. *Feature image
