In a sub-state loss at Central Christian last February Criqui had struggles getting going and only finished with a made three while going 0/2 from the line. This season she is one big reason why the Trojans are sitting atop the 1A D II Hartford Sub-State with a 6-1 record.

I have watched Galbert play a bunch over the years, especially with her club team. I have long known her to have a strong handle, very quick hands and good speed with the ball in transition and off the bounce. With leading scorer Heylei Davis' graduated she has taken advantage of more opportunities to impact the 6-1 Blue Aces. As the team's fourth leading scorer at 9.2 points per game she is shooting 31% from three point land and 55% from the floor. She also has a greater than 2-to-1 assists to turnover ratio and picking up just under 2 steals per game. She will factor substantially in East's bid to return to the 6A state tournament.

The two-time Frontier League honorable mention picked up the MVP selection at the Turner Classic earlier this month. She brings perimeter shooting (she hit her first five three pointers in the championship game), length and transition speed to the Braves. With only a five point loss to undefeated Ottawa.

Schlessiger is at the forefront the Eagle's 7-0 start, matching that of Hoxie in the 2A Smith Center sub-state. After averaging just over 7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game last season she has vaulted up to 13.3 points, 7.9 rebounds (75% of which are offensive) and 1.9 blocks. She is shooting 53% from the field and 73% from the line. Schlessiger has solid size, great length and an ability to read plays to set up for shot blocks. What sets her apart from many other bigs is her north-south speed. Schlessiger has solid hands to catch and finish at speed. A Central Plains League 3rd team selection a season ago she is one to watch how her development continues.

Smith transferred to Beloit from Whole Heart Home School after pouring in 1,500 points. While she is only shooting 24% on a handful of opportunities Smith is knocking down 75% of her free throws while averaging 16.8 points. She is snagging 3.3 steals per game and snagging 8.6 rebounds, have of which are offensive. She is regarded as a scrappy, a strong competitor, a high vision distributor in transition and the half court and a scrappy defender with a strong lower body.
