Shutdown has struck so many players on every level and there were many players that were looking to the spring evaluation to emerge from the shadows into the limelight. There were several players that caught our eye during the season that would have most certainly impressed college coaches in April. Here are a few that coaches need to take a look at. [player_tooltip player_id="132329" first="Alexis" last="Nnabue"] - 5’11" - Forward - Sherwood - 2021 Alexis missed her sophomore season after a knee injury but is back and the knee is better than ever. She is athletic and runs the floor very well and has the speed to beat her position off the dribble. She is a very good rebounder and creates will off of the offensive glass. She is very strong, can jump out of the gym and is a great defender, especially on the perimeter. Range is increasing making her a threat from beyond the arc. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/10531448/5e76806632dcb217780f804f Caramina Tanedo - 5’8" - Point Guard - St. John’s - 2020 [caption id="attachment_147890" align="alignnone" width="300"] Caramina Tanedo[/caption] One of the DMV’s most underrated player and possibly the best shooter the region has seen in years. A four year varsity player on one of the nations top teams with four straight league championship game appearances winning twice. Caramina is a high level scoring point guard that can run a team or carry a team if needed. [player_tooltip player_id="137225" first="Nailah" last="McBeth"] - 5’10" - Wing/Forward - Georgetown Visitation - 2022 Nailah’s stock has been rising steadily as her game has matured out to the wing. She is a really good finisher and plays great interior and perimeter defense. She has a good touch around the rim and her range is improving. https://youtu.be/gXr50vQcepA [player_tooltip player_id="137229" first="Cori" last="Barnes"] - 5’9" - Wing - St. Frances Academy - 2022 Defensively Cori can cover just about anyone in front of her. She attacks and finishes well and has good size and a nice body at the wing. She knocks down shots from three and can pull up on a dime when attacking. Her game took major strides during the high school season and she was set to blossom this sping. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RsPTqviyqeg Nia Ford - 5’10" - Wing - Fredrick Douglass - 2021 The hype is real and Nia is the "real deal". When she turns it on she is one of the nations best wings. Offensively she can score from anywhere and when she wants. She is a very unselfish player which can sometimes be her weakness when she can take over. Later in the season she started to believe in herself and it showed in the playoffs. With the season being cut short and the spring cancelled smart coaches can make the move on her without the fuss if they act immediately. https://youtu.be/YaAJ0dUTfqM
