Several seniors that can are available and can play in college were among the very good teams at the event. These kids would make positive additions to a lot of college programs. They come from winning programs and compete against the best competition in the southeast on a regular basis. While not all these seniors will play in college, they all will have major roles for their teams as region play ends and the playoffs begin.

Shepard had another big game shooting the ball from deep for Newton where she excels on offense. Shepard added an elbow jumper off a shot fake after several made threes and a nice lay up on an up and under move. She plays very good defense, competes hard, and has good size. Once again, Kandice stood out against a very good opponent. Junior colleges are taking notice and she has received multiple offers, but I believe Shepard could come in a play for an NAIA or Division Three school next year. She is a high academic kid with over a 3.5 GPA and a transplant from Colorado who is way under the radar for her skills and ability.

Jackson is another guard from Newton who is battle tested and continues to prove she can play with the anybody. Jackson scored from all three levels and made several impressive passes leading to assists. Defensively, Jackson uses her quickness well to stop penetration and cause turnovers. I have seen her play with best and against the best more than five times this season and Jackson, without a doubt, would be a very good college player. Jackson also has a GPA above 3.5 and her intelligence is hard to miss on the court. She is a competitor who makes winning plays on a consistent basis.

Wilson had a very solid performance inside for Cherokee Bluff finishing the game with 8 points, 5 rebounds, and one vey nice block coming from the help side on defense. She showed a soft touch scoring around the basket, something she can do more of when given needed. Wilson did a nice job using her size to seal her defender when posting up and setting screens to create space for Cherokee Bluff's very talented guards. She showed good footwork in the post and agility getting up and down the court. Wilson will be counted on continue to provide that positive post presence that her team needs to make another deep run in the playoffs.

Bradley just made the right play all game long for North Oconee. She took care of the basketball making good decisions with the ball either making the right pass or knocking down the open jumper. Bradley is clearly capable of putting the ball in the basket and while they may not be her primary role, she can hurt opposing teams if left unattended. Bradley will be counted on down the stretch for the Lady Titans in meaningful games as playoff basketball starts. Her experience and high basketball IQ could be very important for North Oconee.

Riley did a nice job running the offense for Luella against a very good Buford team. Riley is a big, strong guard who can get to the basket and cause problems for opposing teams. She is shifty with her handle as well making her even more difficult to defend. With a talented group around her, Kennedy did a nice job distributing the ball to the skilled scorers surrounding her. Make no mistake however, Riley has the ability to put up big numbers in a game as opposing coaches focus on trying to stop her teammates from scoring. She is an ultra-important piece for Luella as they try to hang a banner in Locust Grove.

Lapsley quietly had another steady, solid performance at the helm for the Lady Wolves. Lapsley does an excellent job getting the ball where it needs to go and fast, which is vital to the uptempo, all out, relentless blitz that that Buford imposes on opposing teams every single possession. They get the ball up to the basket quick, which requires a lot mentally and physical from the point guard. Jelyza calm and effectively gets this done every game. She can score when needed as well, knocking down a three point shot and scoring in transition in the game on Saturday as well. Lapsley's play will be critical to Buford's success in the postseason.
