Thursday morning, Prep Girls Hoops Indiana posted the Winter update for the Class of 2028. Typically accompanying updates are articles highlighting players on the move, newcomers, and just all-around general information regarding each position group. Below is a look at the top shooting guards in the state of Indiana, followed by some commentary on a handful of prospects who have played well since the Fall update.

[player_tooltip player_id='1194486' first='Kendall' last='VanderWal'], Angola H.S.
- Kendall is new to Indiana this season, having moved in from Marietta (OH) over the Summer. I am just beginning to familiarize myself with her game, but she is very skilled & talented. She is regularly putting up strong scoring nights for the Hornets, and she can do so from all three levels. She has nice length, athleticism, and the ability to even play on the ball and create offense when necessary. She is already picking Division-I offers/interest.

[player_tooltip player_id='992369' first='Rhyan' last='Wagner'], Evansville F.J. Reitz H.S.
- Rhyan moved over from Mater Dei to Reitz this past offseason, and she has been immediately impactful for the 17-2 Panthers, averaging 13.7 points per game and knocking down, on average, three 3-pointers each contest. She has really nice length, fluid athleticism, plus she is a playmaker. She can handle the ball and initiate the offense, she can score it in a variety of ways, and I feel like her best basketball is still a couple of years away.

[player_tooltip player_id='990166' first='Aaliyah' last='Wilson'], Park Tudor H.S.
- Aaliyah is yet another transfer in this group, having attended Lawrence Central last year. She is a long, wiry, athletic wing guard who moves around the floor almost effortlessly. At Park Tudor, she has been able to step right into the starting lineup and average nearly 20 points per game each time out. She is a capable perimeter shooter when given any space, plus she can put it on the floor and slice to the basket. She's also impactful defensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='941968' first='Elyse' last='Snively'], Heritage Christian H.S.
- Keeping with the trend, Elyse is also new to her school, but she was previously homeschooled. She is a long, smooth, athletic guard who was more of a ball-handler at a younger age, however, she is now turning into quite the weapon offensively for the Eagles. She can still run offense, but her 14.4 point per game scoring average is second on the team, and she's shooting 34% from 3-point range. She has given them a true second option offensively.

[player_tooltip player_id='990954' first='Madelyn' last='Bender'], Evansville Central H.S.
- Madelyn saw a handful of minutes in 10 games on last year's 23-5 team that included several older guards. Now that she's getting more of an opportunity this year, she is proving her worth. She is an excellent 3-point shooter, she is a capable ball-handler and can initiate the offense, but her ability to make shots is what stands out most. As she continues to gain experience, especially this postseason, look for her to come up even bigger next year.
