Rhyan is one of those prospects who is just a really nice basketball player. She has point guard skill and can initiate an offense, but she is also a talented shooter and has some size and strength. Her positioning for the next level will likely come down to who her coach sees her defending. Right now, she is skilled offensively like a combo guard, but she’s probably best defending bigger guards and small forwards. Regardless, she has put together a nice Spring so far, she utilizes her strength on the perimeter, and she’s an effective rebounder for a guard. She is often a “glue” type of player for her team(s).

Moving over from Mater Dei to Reitz this year seems to have given Rhyan quite the boost. She has played with confidence, aggressiveness, and she has been able to show her well-rounded skillset on the perimeter. She is a very good perimeter shooter, and that might be what stands out at times, but she is also a solid all-around athlete, plus she has a good handle, vision, and she can initiate the offense and find open teammates in positions to score. I don’t know that she’ll necessarily be a point guard at the next level, but that versatility gives her an advantage from the wing.

Rhyan is one of the better players in Southwest Indiana, and after transferring from Evansville Mater Dei this year, she really helped F.J. Reitz. She has an athletic frame, nice length, and she moves well in most directions. She is a good perimeter shooter and multilevel scorer, and that’s likely where she’ll play in college. But she has also shown an improved handle and the ability to get her team into their offense. She could very easily be on the combo guard list instead. She gives nice effort, she’ll work defensively, and she has a nice general all-around understanding of the game.

I guess I wasn’t aware that Rhyan was a part of the Always 100 program this year, so it was a pleasant surprise to see her in action Sunday. She is a talented guard who should draw her share of college interest this Spring & Summer. She has nice length, an athletic frame, and she’s a nice all-around athlete as well. She handles it solidly in transition and is a good passer, but she is also a very good multilevel scorer who I think I would prefer to run off of screens consistently. She showed some toughness and physicality as a scoring guard, and she rebounded/defended as well.

Rhyan was a dynamic scorer for Team 6 at the Sophomore ID Camp. She shifted into a higher gear when she attacked the basket. Rhyan went by to score a soft floater off the glass and changed direction suddenly with a crossover while driving full speed downhill for a left-handed finish. Rhyan was a perimeter threat, drilling smooth three-pointers from the corner and the slot. She crashed hard to grab offensive rebounds, created space from defenders with shifty inside-out dribbles, and converted layups. She was one of the most accurate perimeter shooters during the drills and earned recognition as a Top Performer.
