Standout 2027s from Northern Colorado

While Boulder hasn't traditionally been a hotbed for standout girls basketball talent, juniors [player_tooltip player_id='796629' first='Lexi' last='Oder'], [player_tooltip player_id='910387' first='Remi' last='Kingdom'] and [player_tooltip player_id='910393' first='Chloe' last='Hickory'] are starting to change that narrative.   Earlier this month, all three took center stage in the city's premier high school rivalry: Boulder vs. Fairview. Oder and Kingdom, both playing for Boulder, helped the Panthers rally to a 50–43 overtime victory. Hickory had 12 points for Fairview in the loss.   Let's take a closer look at them — and other nearby juniors — who are drawing attention.    Oder proved she's built for the big stage against Fairview, scoring a career-high 30 in a comeback win. She's an excellent playmaker with the ball in her hands, and has superb vision. Due to the Panthers' lack of shooting, she's asked to create and score on her own often, and she does it well. When she attacks, she has the ability to snap a quick 3 or get to the rim. She might be one of the state's most underrated players.     Kingdom has nice size at 5-foot-11, especially for a guard with handles like hers. She is strong under the hoop, averaging 5.1 boards per game as a listed shooting guard for the Panthers. Offensively, she has nice touch from a few feet away and can be effective from the 3-point line, where she's shooting 33%. Her 81% free throw shooting, meanwhile, speaks to her maturity and calming presence on the court.     Hickory is still developing her shooting, where she's 26% from 3 and 69% at the free-throw line. She's terrific around the hoop, however, where she fights and scraps for every rebound. Coaches are impressed with her nice touch by the hoop and an unrelenting engine. Defensively, she's able to match up against anybody on the court.     On a different team, Clark could would have averaged around 20 points per game in her first two seasons at Mead. But the Mavericks was loaded with talent and cognizant about spreading the ball around. This year, however, she's the clear leader offensively, where she averages around 20 PPG. She can create for herself and others with the ball in her hand. She's a complete player who's also strong on the glass and on the defensive end.     White can fly under the radar playing for a high school program that has struggled to get wins recently. But the 6-foot-1 forward has all the attributes you'd want at the next level. She uses her size well on both ends of the court, averaging 12 rebounds and nearly four blocks per game. But it's not just her length that gives opposing teams issues. A volleyball player in the fall, her athleticism is superb, touting well above average hops and quickness.
