Avery competed hard on both ends of the floor and found different ways to impact the game. She scored in different ways, controlled the glass and stepped into open shots with confidence. Her all-around effort gave BC Denver a steady presence throughout the weekend.

Avery has the height and physical stature of a forward, but she definitely showed her capacity to excel in a guard role during Hope College Elite Camp, delivering a complete performance that had me impressed from start to finish. She hit threes from different spots on the Shoot-A-Way, swished a straightaway triple in the transition drill, and did a great job helping others by pointing/directing. Avery finished well with both hands, attacking downhill on a hard drive to score a contested layup, then sealed a defender in the lane, caught the entry pass with strong hands, used an effective counter pivot, and finished with her left. Avery made a sweet between-the-legs zip pass to the corner and drew help defenders, then dished out a bounce pass to a basket cutter for an assist. Avery continues to show that her impact goes well beyond rebounding and easy points around the basket. She competes from start to finish every single game and brings a physical presence on the defensive end. Coming in third on this list only reinforces how important she is to her team’s success.

Seeing Avery on this list comes as no surprise she has been one of the leaders in this category over the past few seasons. She understands that rebounding always gives her team a chance to win regardless of whether her offense is flowing. Her consistency on the glass continues to be a steadying force for her team.

Avery has been an important piece this season because of her willingness to do whatever is needed defensively. She rebounds the ball at a high level, taking away second-chance opportunities for teams. Her presence is felt every possession, including on the offensive end.

Avery is in for a big junior year as she continues to improve her game. Offensively she is getting to her spots quicker and finishing plays with confidence. Something that started over the summer for her. On defense she’s a rim protector and rebounder, making her presence felt inside.

As a stretch forward, Avery created matchup nightmares every time she stepped on the floor. She could post up smaller defenders or use her quickness to blow by bigger players. This versatility made her one of the toughest players to prepare for and play against.

Avery is tough for BC Denver , she fits right in with their fast paced and aggressive play. At just over 6’0″, she plays very well in the paint. She has great footwork with her back to the basket, scoring through multiple defenders and pressure to earn extra buckets at the free throw line. White can also catch on the wing in transition to get to the basket or pull up for a close jumper. On D, the multiple sport athlete is equally strong and powerful. She keeps her player in check and from getting easy touches plus she gets to help on guards. She doesn’t let anything easy happen in the paint. With the height and the strength, Avery also cleans up on the boards on both ends. Watching this power forward put in work is a must this summer.
