Ojeme’s play will only got better with more time on the court. She has all the potential in the world to be a major recruit for division one coaches. Akudo has only been in the country for less than a year, coming from Austria to play tennis. The mobility and agility, along with the footwork, has translated seamlessly to basketball. At 6’2 with a very good dominate left hand and elite athleticism, Ojeme is still learning the game but was by far the most improved player in the state from November until the Region tournament in February. She has a very soft touch around the rim, is an excellent shot blocker and rebounder who attacks the ball in the air. She is figuring out her offensive game on the fly, but she is a dynamic slasher to the basket with ball already and finishes well around the rim. She has the ability to step out and knock down shots from the midrange and from behind the three point line. Ojeme is one of the most exciting prospects I have come across in a long time. She is a very intelligent kid who wants to be a mechanical engineer when her playing days are over. If things continue the way they have the last 6 months, then that may not be for a while.

Akudo’s potential and trajectory is very similar to Branch’s in that they both already dominate games on the boards and in the paint on defense. Ojeme is fairly new to the game and actually came to America from Austria as a tennis player. The second half of the season she was one of the very best posts in the state as she added offensive contributions to her game. Again, similar to Branch, Akudo scored most of her points at the rim cleaning up her teammates missed shots or off assist. She too showed the ability to hit jump shots out to about 12 feet. While her offensive game is still developing, the other aspects of her game have already gained the interest of several college coaches from division two to the SEC. Continued offensive development will be key, but Ojeme moves like a tennis player on the court sliding from side to side patrolling the paint. She has great mobility and beat her defender by sprinting down the court in transition regularly when I saw Providence play. The sky is the limit for Akudo and she is only a sophomore.

Ojeme was born with the height, length and athleticism that are about perfect for a girls basketball player. Standing 6’2 with a long wingspan, the Austrian’s ability to explode quickly off the floor is hard to miss on the court. Her skills have developed dramatically since I saw PCA in November. Audi looked very confident this game snatching offensive rebounds, keeping the ball high, and finishing quickly with a put back at the rim. the southpaw was a target in the post on offense where she looked much more comfortable operating with the ball than she did a few months ago. Ojeme had a couple more eye catching blocks and rebounded the ball very well again. She is a player whose recruiting could skyrocket over the next two years.
