That is a lot of success, a lot prospects and a lot of commitment. Coach Shawn Costigan has put together a solid 2023 team that will be ready to roll as soon as this pandemic is under control. Coach Costigan was kind enough to share some information about his team with me recently.

Lyndsey earned a starting position as a freshman for Flint Hill High School’s varsity team. At 5”11, she is very versatile and capable of playing multiple positions, ranging from shooting guard to post which enables her to impact the game based on team need. A confident shooter, a lot of her points came from behind the three point line, but one of her biggest assets is her ability to impact a game on the boards, where she led her team for the season. She was named First Team for the NOVA Hoops All Freshman Team. She has been training extremely hard over quarantine and can’t wait to start her AAU season stronger than ever. Lyndsey started playing with the Vogues National Team when she was in the second grade.

Tori Crofford, 5’8″ Shooting Guard,
Tori didn’t start playing competitive basketball until the seventh grade, for a “B” level travel team. She worked her way off the bench to be a starter. She stuck with basketball, and worked even harder when she transferred to Paul VI. Even though she played on the Freshman team, she was a key contributor in their undefeated season. After the high school season, she tried out and showed enough potential to make the Vogues National Team.
Riya Menon, 6’0″, Forward
With a 75 inch wingspan and impeccable timing, Riya Menon is an extremely quick forward. She plays on the varsity basketball team at Fairfax High School. Her high IQ and athleticism makes her an impact player on the court. Riya is a team player that consistently gives maximum effort. She received an honorable mention from the NOVA Hoops Freshmen Team for her hard work this past season. Riya has been playing on the PV Vogues National team since the fifth grade.

Alexandra Castle, 5’10” Power Forward
Alexandra was the starting forward/center on the Lake Braddock JV team this past season as a freshman. Allie’s presence on the court was evident as she accumulated multiple double/double games and provided extensive quality minutes for the team. Allie’s strength and dynamic shot blocking ability provides a formidable defensive posture. Her skill set is also highlighted by her rebounding and exceptional accurate passing ability to initiate the fast break. Along with her defensive presence, her ability is well complimented by her soft shot and ball handling. Allie plays bigger than her 5’10” frame which is seen by her impressive wing span, as she recorded 10+ blocks in three separate games! Allie has played with the Vogues National team since the fifth grade.
Molly Brunk, 5’7″ Wing
Molly was a starting guard as a freshman on Fairfax High School’s Varsity Girls Basketball Team. A very good shooter, Molly had some huge games, including when she hit for 17 against Battlefield at Rebel Roundball. Not afraid of contact, this versatile guard will go mix it up on the boards bringing down well over 100 rebounds during her freshman season. Molly also brings tremendous energy to every game and never lets up. She was named to the All-NOVA Freshman Girls Team and awarded an All District Honorable Mention in the Patriot League. Molly is a new addition to the Vogues this season and looking forward to getting back on the court with her team.
