On Saturday we got a chance to watch about 20 teams compete in a round robin type scrimmage fest. It was a nice format with each team playing two quarter rotations in front of about 30 college coaches that were in attendance. It was also a good opportunity to get a first look at some of the area's top programs and their current rosters. The scores reset after each quarter and each team used their bench a little more than they would have in a regular season game, therefore we weren't concerned with who actually won the games. In this part we will discuss five players that stood out during the day that you probably have never heard of.

Margaret is great in transition, she used her length repeatedly to deflect passes and create steals where she was able to start and finish the break. She has pretty good outside shot and showed good footwork in traffic.
Beanie Lundu - 6'7" - Center - Capital Christian Academy - 2022
[caption id="attachment_17985" align="alignnone" width="253"] Beanie Lundu[/caption]
She is just a freshman but Beanie at 6'7" is already changing the game by blocking and altering shots. She is agile and runs the floor with the guards. She finished by the basket and should the beginning of a perimeter shot that will expand her game as she gains consistency. She should be a household name in a couple of years.
Nyshae Weaver - 6'0" - Wing - Coppin Academy - 2021
Nashae made some nice plays in the lane. She attacked well from the mid range and was able to finish after contact. Coppin Academy played both their games pretty early so many people missed them, however, Nyshae is worth making a special trip to see.
Laila Jewett - 5'10" - Wing - Bishop Ireton - 2021
When multiple people ask during the game "who's that girl" you know that your are doing something right. Laila made play after play and should be a key piece for the Cardinal this season as they look to challenge for a title.
Nalani Lyde - 6'0" - Sidwell Friends - 2019
Nalani is a very athletic shot blocker and showed off her basket protecting skill with multiple same possession blocks. She showed really good elevation shooting over defenders and finishing at the rim.
