Prep Girls Hoops is hosting their Southeast Region Finals this weekend in Columbus, Georgia with two days of great competition between teams from across the southeast. I've been able to cover the 17U division seeing a lot of these rising seniors make the most of their last travel season. Here are some of the X-factors that I've been able to watch.

Anne Younanian had some nice looks hitting her teammates on the block from the top of the key. She hustled back on defense knocking the ball away from her opponents wanting to drive past her. She showed off her range shooting the ball making it off the dribble as she stepped back for the shot. She made some nice dishes to her teammates drawing opponents towards her to get the opening.

[player_tooltip player_id='1246050' first='Ashlyn' last='Braaten'] had five back to back points pulling up hitting the jumper from the free throw line and showing off her range making it off the pass. She was tough on the boards grabbing rebounds on both ends. She hustled back on defense being ready to protect the basket guarding any player who came near the paint.

Jules Anderson seemed to be at the free throw line a lot as she was making quick cuts to the basket and getting fouled when her defender was late trying to block her shot. She hustled up the court being ready for the pass in transition, or she handled the ball herself controlling the tempo. She did well moving without the ball making a play looking for the opening.

Zaniya Reddick attacks the basket well getting to the rim and knowing how to make the adjustment to score her points. Her floaters in the paint were difficult to defend, and her speed let her blow by her opponents with ease. She was crashing the boards on both ends, too, making sure team had a chance for the rebound.

[player_tooltip player_id='968153' first='Mckenzie' last='Green'] makes nice cuts in the paint losing her defender and getting to the opening. She battles for every loose ball, and she goes up strong for rebounds. She was tough on the block using her quick feet to score some points in the paint. Her court vision was apparent hitting her teammates from the top of the key as they cut to the basket.
