I have NO clue if Jordan Steverson is going to get the nod to play Varsity ball as an 8th grader this Winter at Assumption High School but I do think she is skilled enough too. Steverson is lightning quick, she makes smart plays when she gets into the teeth of the defense off the dribble, she competes with a ton of positive energy in general, and she has that chip-on-her-shoulder mentality that could take her places at the next level some day. Steverson made some eye-opening plays at this event on both sides of the ball. She led at times from the PG position, she moved off to the 2 and 3 while still producing in little ways, and she didn’t slouch on defense. All in all, a really good showing for someone we didn’t know too much about prior to this event.

Steverson was one of the more polished finishers from the event. She has a soft touch around the rim that pairs well with her creativity and craftiness. Has some solid ball handling skills as well. High potential.

Man, Steverson was fun to watch. A shifty floor general always looking to make the extra pass, Steverson got to the hoop at will. She both generates her own offense – getting downhill and going to the rim is her bread and butter – and exhibited the ability to shoot it from deep. Steverson also brought plenty of defensive tenacity, stripping the ball several times and lobbing it down the floor for the go-ahead assist. The next step in her development is becoming more consistent as a finisher, but there’s a ton to like about her offensive upside.
