In the first look of the rising freshmen in actual play with their high school teams, we were able to get a good feel on the class and the future of DMV basketball. There were some players that are trying to get adjusted but showed potential and others that showed that they are "ready for action" right now. Here are five that really impressed over the weekend.

Londyn has a physical frame for a freshman and uses it well to attack the basket with force. She is aggressive on the boards logging nine rebounds against Cresset Christian and scored 9 points in two games. She has range to knock down shots beyond the arc. Her addition makes the Bulldogs a better team.

Cirina has good size and is physical in the paint. She can catch and finish on the run and has a little hook shot in the lane that's effective. She rebounds well and shot and made a three. None of which translated into wins as Seton was 0-4 for the weekend but as she continues to improve the outcomes can change in the close games.

Lorielle is set to make an immediate for the Falcons as she dropped over 10 points per in their three games. She shot 50% from beyond the arc and showed the ability to get to the basket even when being pressured by double teams. She had a nice split of the trap that she turned into an easy bucket and defensively she keeps up the pressure tracking down the ballhandler from behind to strip the ball.

Braylin play like a veteran for McDonogh. Offensively she had some full court transition finishes that she made with contact, some nice pull up jumpers in the lane and showed the handle to navigate through traffic and get to the rim. She kept her eye up spotting teammates drifting open for the pass. She averaged over 12 points per game in her two games.

Aubree had a nice game dropping 11 points against Mt. Zion Prep. She has been amongst the top middle schoolers and showed that her talent transfers well to the high school level. She has a quick first step after the pump fake and is a good finisher at the rim. She has a soft touch off the backboard and was great from the free throw line going 7 for 8 for the day.
