In case you’re not familiar with who I am, I’m the guy that started promoting Texas over 15 years ago because I felt those who were in power weren’t saying enough and my method and mindset usually upset many but one thing I found out was that it’s political and it’s filled with pettiness from adults but during that span, around 2004, I caught Air Oklahoma play against Fairfax Stars. Danielle Gant (Texas A&M) and Earnesia Williams (Texas) starred for AO, Marissa Coleman (Maryland), and WNBA in what I consider was a GREAT game but it also helped me notice that talent was everywhere and Oklahoma has been on my radar ever since so here are my Super 7 from both Heart of Texas and Super 64 that I PERSONALLY saw [player_tooltip player_id="238723" first="Shamar" last="Bert"]-5’7 PG/SG BTR 15U UAA (Putnam City West HS) Bert is an explosive shooter and watching her drop the long ball was a thing of beauty because not only can she shoot it, she can "catch and shoot" it, with accuracy and on top of that, her ability to create her shot off the dribble was deadly and she did it playing up which is always a sign of things to come but let me not leave out she handles the ball and sees the floor well [player_tooltip player_id="238722" first="Taliyah" last="Parker"]-6’1 SG/SF BTR 15U UAA (Putnam City West HS) Parker made one of my Tip Sheets from the Heart Of Texas which hashtagged #HOT and that’s exactly what she was as she showed not only athletic ability but she was ultra-athletic and combined with her skill set is somewhat scary, for defenders down the road. She understands how to attack the basket from multiple angles, I wrote "ups" because she elevates on the jumper, for rebounds and from a single bound [player_tooltip player_id="242119" first="Caya" last="Smith"]-6’1 SF/PF BTR 15U UAA (Putnam City West HS) Smith sold me a couple of years ago because she was "long and athletic" had a solid skill-set and her eagerness was just over the top as she was everywhere. I love watching how young players react as well as what they can do instinctively and she was ahead of the game yet she’s reading the passing lane, putting the ball on the floor in the open court and scoring both inside and facing the basket, that HS squad has me SMH Taiona Morris-5’4 SG Team Tulsa Purple (Union Intermediate HS) Morris the cat was huge on commercials but this Morris was huge on the court and with her "cat-like" instincts on picking pockets as well as speed from A to B, I guess her shooting the long ball had me going, well it actually did and she put on somewhat of a long ball exhibition but she also showed she could create her shot as well as handle the ball in the open court Sakauri Wilson-5’3 PG/SG Team Tulsa Purple (Tulsa Honor Academy HS) Wilson has "sees things through a microscope" written on my eval, I remember that vividly but I also remember her first step which sets everything up because when you can blow by defenders and make the pass on the money, going full speed, that’s big and her ballhandling enabled her to create her shot from various spots, including the long ball however watching her play the passing lane got my adrenaline going Ariel Vasquez-Team Tulsa Purple Vasquez upside is intriguing because she has good size, good hands, and footwork and she understands how to use her body which has a good frame to not only take punishment but inflict it. She rebounded strong and ran the floor well but she also is a solid passer and that will take her a long way but what will take her even further when you add to the equation, is her drop step KiAryn Taylor-Team Tulsa Purple Taylor is long and athletic, one more time, that’s the base and she not only plays solid defense, but she also loves to play defense and that includes baseline to baseline as well as playing the passing lane and with her athletic ability, she has the tools to do some heavy damage before it’s all said and done because she rebounds, she keeps the ball high and understands how important the outlet pass is
