OK Top 250 Expo Sunday Notes: Part 1

Wide range of talent to those that are already ranked, those that are on the watch list, and those that are ready to make a name for themselves. A count of 80 plus kids it will take awhile to cover them all but I want to drop 5 players in my notes from Sunday. She never seems to rattled in her game. A guard that knows what she is looking for when getting paint touches. Reading the defense and can hit what I call all 3 looks. First the layup, second the post drop, and last the kick out to the shooter. Listed a 5'6 but is physically like a power forward allowing her to absorb contact on the drives for some tough and one finishes. The player showed off a nice mid-range game about 10 feet out off the drives. Add the outside shooting of making a couple of 3's and she was a tough match up for some guards.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"anchor":"acf-block-6aa770139e69c"} --> <p id="acf-block-6aa770139e69c">Good rebounder on both ends that either grabbed the ball or kept it alive with tips. A post player that I have not seen before stood out with her physical play and effectiveness around the basket. Good hands for a post that caught the ball and got it to the box for the score. Nice shot around the free throw that makes her a good option at the high post. Made some smooth passes from the high post that you would see in a Princeton type offense. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Norman North needs some inside presence to go with the shooters they have this season. The effectiveness of the pocket hesi and explosive first step allowed to get by the defense Sunday, getting to the paint to break down the defense. Solid full court pick up that kept the ball handler in front moving side to side, no straight line drives. Showed a nice low block step to face up the defense then make a quick move to gain the inside position for the score. A forward that has a nice jumper 10 feet out around the rim but can also extend that range further out if needed. Taylor ball handling has improved that to play a big 4 for an 4 guard offense.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Great length not sure of Taylor wing span but with nice timing of the jump she is for sure a rim protector. The forward has received offers at the D1 level and I expect more to come this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block -->
