ND Predictions - Class A Region 2 Top 2

Who is going to come out of Region 2? Many teams lose key players to graduation and will look a lot different. That isn't the case for the Carrington Cardinals who return three key juniors.   1. Carrington Cardinals    Aniston is a returning All-Region selection from last season. She leads us off with a Carrington team that has a ton of talented 2028's. She can score in bunches and from anywhere on the court. She is slippery driving to the basket and can get by many primary defenders. She finishes well at the rim and earns herself trips to the free-throw line. Aniston seems to line up when the lights are the brightest, something great players do. Last season she scored 20 against Kindred, 19 against Devils Lake, and 21 against Valley City. This ability to play well against top competition is one of the reasons I think Carrington comes out of Region 2 in 2027.     Marah is a natural athlete on the floor and has the frame of a college guard. She has a lot of potential as a recruit and will start to turn some heads after this seaosn with some quality play. Already a two-time All-Region selection, I anticipate even bigger things from the 2028 guard this season. She will have a shot at earning an All-State selection and helping lead Carrington to the state tournament in 2027. She has a beautiful shot with near perfect arc and release. She sets her feet and the ball seems to just flow to the basket. Her length allows her to be an excellent defender. This two-way guard is an impressive player.     I love watching good post play and Maara is someone who has very sound post fundamentals. She is a natural around the basket. Her ability to duck-in and find position is effortless. She dominates one-on-one defense with her strength and ability to finish through contact. If a double-team comes, she doesn't get fazed and is able to kick out to open shooters. She flashes across the lane and has a soft touch that bounces into the basket. Finally, she is a fantastic defender and rebounder. She will be rising in the rankings next release.    2. Devils Lake Firebirds    Tylie will be a finalist for Miss Basketball in 2027. She has a decorated career up to this point and is one of the best seniors in the state. Tylie is a multi-year All Conference selection, a multi-year All-State selection, a state champion, and a state tournament MVP. The Minot State commit brings a lot of positive action to the court on both sides of the ball. She excels in Devils Lake's full-court press. Her tenacious defense translates to multiple turnovers and easy scoring opportunities for her team. She can defend, pass with great vision, and stretch the floor from three. I expect another fantastic season for Tylie capping off an incredible career as a Firebird.     Beck is an outstanding athlete who also thrives in the Firebirds' full-court press. She is great at jumping passing lanes and getting steals. Her transition game is a lot of fun to watch. Beck plays with great effort and enthusiasm. She crashes the boards hard and keeps possessions alive with her energy at the offensive glass. She can snag missed shots and put them back in for easy second-chance points. Beck is a player with a lot of experience who is someone Coach Klein can count on to bring her A game each night.
