Sophomore ID Camp: Team 3 Recap

The Sophomore ID Camp is always a good measuring stick because by year two of high school, players are starting to show us more of who they are and where their games are headed. Team 3's [player_tooltip player_id='1256918' first='Harper' last='Hodde'], I previously wrote about in the 3-on-3 article evaluation <a href="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/harper-hodde/" data-type="link" data-id="https://prepgirlshoops.com/player/harper-hodde/">here</a>.    Anderson is a tough-nosed guard who plays with purpose off the bounce. Does a nice job driving into the lane and forcing the defense to collapse before kicking it out to an open teammate. Creates opportunities for others by putting consistent pressure on the paint.     A lefty hustler who brings good activity on both ends of the floor. Showed a nice touch in the mid-range and found ways to score around the paint without having to overpower defenders. Against bigger posts, she used crafty finishes, angles, and her left hand to work her way around size at the rim. She also wasn't afraid to mix it up on the glass, contributing on the boards and creating extra possessions with her effort.     A reliable mid-range threat who does a nice job moving along the baseline and settling into the short corner for clean looks. You can count on her to step into that jumper with confidence when the defense gives her space. Defensively, she uses her body and footwork well to contain quicker guards and stays connected through screens. Plays with good balance on both ends and doesn't get easily knocked off her spots.     Quick first step and a strong baseline attack game. She does a nice job turning the corner with purpose, then keeping her eyes up to find the open teammate sitting in the corner pocket when the defense rotates over. On defense she uses her length well to disrupt passing lanes and get a hand on balls. Her combination of quickness and length allows her to make plays on both sides of the ball.     Spot-up shooter who understands how to move herself into scoring opportunities. Does a nice job setting the screen and then flaring out into space, making herself available for the catch-and-shoot look. She doesn't stay planted after the initial action, either, showing a good feel for relocating and finding open pockets in the defense. Her movement without the ball helps keep the floor spaced and gives teammates another option when the defense collapses.     Shooter with a quick, confident release who stays ready when the ball finds her. Does a nice job getting her feet set on the catch and can make the defense pay when given space. Her ability to stretch the floor creates driving lanes for teammates and forces defenders to stay attached on the perimeter.
