Toledo Top 64 – Freshman Standouts

Prep Girls Hoops was honored to cover the Toledo Top 64 at Scott High School on Saturday, October 10th. This event featured an INVITE-ONLY showcase of the top 64 prospects in the classes of 2027-2030 throughout Toledo and the Northwest Ohio area. In this article, I will break down and evaluate my final list of my Top 20 standouts featuring the top five freshman that shined at the event on Saturday!

Audree plays with a level of intensity that others can't match! She is a pesky pressure defender who sits down and anticipates where the ball handler is going making the correct read when to go for steals. Audree Plassman got a steal and took it the length of the floor and scored in transition. Great touch! At her size, this freshman offers a lot of versatility. She has a relentless motor that was displayed on both ends at the Toledo Top 64. Audree also loves to attack looking for contact. I'm really high on this freshman's potential and coaches need her on their 2030 boards.

Ka'Mauri is a bit of a unicorn on the basketball floor. Being listed as a 6-foot combo guard is very rare. Seeing her for the first time, I can contest that the hype is real! This freshman put her whole game on display at the Toledo Top 64. Multiple times she took the ball and went coast to coast and scored it. What a special talent! She can also shoot the ball at a high level. Pure stroke from deep! Colleges need to get her on their 2030 boards now as I see a very big future for this young lady!

A small guard with the ability to create her own shot and make fluid finishes inside. [player_tooltip player_id='1808521' first='Ava' last='Scruggs'] is a reliable PG who makes the right decisions offensively with the ball in her hands. High IQ! She is a quick burst guard who can get to the basket with ease. As she continues to put in the work, I believe she has a bright future at Clyde!

My second time covering Rhyan this preseason and the attributes and skillset were clearly on display again at the Toledo Top 64. This combo guard can flat out shoot the rock! She has a unique combination of shooting and passing that really stands out. Fantastic facilitator in transition! [player_tooltip player_id='1818490' first='Rhyan' last='Brown'] showed multiple times on Saturday that she was one of the best guards on the floor. Her confidence to just rise and fire off a quick reversal or pull it coming up the floor is remarkable! Don't count her out on defense either. She puts in the work and wants to guard the opposing team's best player. Huge competitor! I'm convinced Rhyan is going to have a big freshman year at Notre Dame Academy!

Ray'Lynn is a presence on the basketball floor. Not only can she handle the ball bringing it up versus pressure, she's a fluid finisher in the paint. I like that she knows already at a young age when to look for her shot and when to get her teammates involved. At over 6-feet tall, Ray'Lynn Hamilton has the skillset paired with an elite motor to be great! She played with an aggressive mindset at the Toledo Top 64 and has the wingspan and measurements to be really special. I'm interested in following her high school career at Notre Dame Academy!
