Melina Snoozy of Bishop Heelan Catholic will return for her Senior season holding onto the #1 spot in this 2027 Class. Honestly, we are at the part where it would be really tough to kick Snooz out of this top spot. Her body of work as a whole, the skills she brings to the table as an elite CG, and everything in between adds together to create someone that is going to be a household name at Iowa State over the next 4-5 years if she plays her cards right. I expect Snoozy to lead her high school program to another showing at State this Winter but from there - who knows where things might take them. All I know is that no matter who is placed in front of her, Snoozy is going to go right at them, usually with a lot of success in one way or another. Her length plays a key factor on both ends and we should see that at the highest rate possible over the next eight months on the Varsity floor.

If you were to tell me that Katie Muller made it to the college level and she put together the best overall career out of all the 2027's on this list - it wouldn't shock me. Snoozy might have the #1 spot above but it's not by a large margin. When you account for Muller's height (6'2/6'3), her ability to shoot the basketball in ANY situation, and knowing that she is fairly athletic - you are looking at a producer at the P4 level at the end of the day. Offensively, when I say she can shoot the ball in ANY situation I mean that she can do it off the catch - going either direction and she can do it off the dribble - going either direction. She can do it off of down screens or flare screens. She can even do it while being double teamed from 5Ft behind the three point line. The point being that this is one of the best shooters in the Country when you account for her size, ability, and mental toughness as a whole. I'm sure Mizzou is excited to have Muller locked-in, especially considering her older sister Ellie will be a Forward for their group beginning this upcoming Winter.

The clear cut #1 PG out of this Class has been and will continue to be Romey Croatt, the South Dakota Women's Basketball Commit. Croatt is that player you can give the ball to in big moments and you can trust what she is going to do for you. She is very good at listening to the coaching staff around her in real time while adapting in whichever moments she can when things happen to change on the fly. She can also get you a bucket. She has a really nice dribble and that helps her blow past most of her individual matchups so she can make things happen closer to the hoop. South Dakota has some talented Guard play on their team right now and that will stay constant when Croatt gets on campus but I still think she takes over that starting PG position, sooner rather than later throughout her collegiate career.

Tylee Weite, the Cleveland State WBB Commit, is set to have a record setting season this Winter at Valley as their group looks to make some noise with a big run during the Playoffs to finish of their year. Weite comes to us as the #4 rated prospect out of this Class at this time. When you combined her shooting ability on offense with her quick first step and natural reaction times, you start to see that she is turning into a well-rounded prospect, who should produce at a high rate at her next stop at Cleveland State then you mention that she is standing right around 6'0 and you REALLY start to see what could be in the future. It's like we always say, you can't teach size and being a 6'0 Guard puts you into that conversation, depending on the context.

Rounding out the Top Five in the #5 spot is Maryn Franken of Sioux Center High School. Franken has answered the bell at every stop. Whenever she has taken the floor, she has produced on both ends consistently. She always scores from all three offensive levels, she defends all positions you can name, she rebounds with intent and assists those around who become open - all while leading vocally from the front of the pack. What more can you ask for as a coach? I'm not sure. Franken should be able to see some time at SDSU once she gets there if she works hard enough. Sometimes it's about finding you niche early on. If she can do that, it'll be down hill from there for the talented Forward.
