Franken is committed to SDSU to compete following her high school career at Sioux Center High School. Prior to this commitment, she had interest from several D1 level programs across the Midwest because of her mixture of size, guard like skill, and adaptability. At the high school level this is a prospect that can be moved between the 3, 4, and 5 positions. She could even move to the 2 if need be because she is smooth enough. She is a 6’0 SF that knows how to produce. She cleans up near the hoop at a high rate on both ends of the floor and she can defend with the best of them. When you pair all of that with a fundamental jumper, you get someone who is going to be able to produce at the collegiate level one day as well. Franken has one more season of high school ball left and I’m sure she is going to look to make the most of it.

. Franken, the 6’0 SF, has proven that she is a stat stuffer on both sides of the basketball. She is always showing up offensively as a threat with her back to the basket on the blocks, she can step out to shoot with a solid jumper, she rebounds hard on both ends, she can defend her position – smaller or bigger – depending on what is being asked of her, and she is a heck of a teammate. She is someone that everyone loves to be around in general and that says a lot. Franken has always shown up while competing and I expect the same over the next few weeks on the road to DSM. She is going to be S.C’s main producer so I’m sure opposing teams are trying to figure out how to slow her down as we speak.

Sioux Center upset Central Lyon last night to give the Lions their second loss of the season. The biggest reason for this upset was the play of

on both ends of the floor. She started things off by scoring early and scoring often. She was all over the glass, looking for rebounds on both sides of the ball. All while defending her position and the hoop at a high rate. When the final buzzer sounded, Sioux Center won 70-62 and Franken recorded 37 points (14/25), 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. If this is how this Sioux Center group is going to play moving forward, I’d watch out come Playoff time because this will be a team that no one should want to face on the road or at a neutral site.

is coming off of a big game, that helped her team get a victory over a well-known program from a surrounding state. Franken hasn’t been someone making crazy stat lines this Winter but she has been efficient in her efforts. She has been making plays for her Sioux Center team, averaging respectable numbers across the board in several positive statistical categories. Sioux Center is a group to watch out for. When the Playoffs start, anything goes and this is a team that knows how to win during the Post season. As for Franken, I expect steady numbers out of her to finish this season off and then she will carry that into AAU ball with her Sanford team on the road.

showed why she is one of the top players in the state. A do-it-all small forward for the Warriors, Franken did just that by making an impact in just about every category. My favorite aspects of Franken’s game are her athleticism on the offensive end and her willingness to push the pace with the ball after a rebound, switching from forward to guard with ease. The South Dakota State commit drew a boatload of fouls by using her pivot and ability to hang in the air, forcing West Lyon defenders to overreach and make contact. A smooth operator at the free-throw line and in the paint, Franken also hit a number of turnaround fadeaways that the Wildcats simply didn’t have an answer for. If you think you’re safe from Franken on the perimeter she’ll make you pay with either a solid jumper from beyond the arc or a face cut and finish at the rim.

is the favorite to be conference player of the year in the Siouxland Conference. Franken, the SDSU WBB commit, is sure to put up impressive numbers in the PPG, RPG, SPG, & BPG categories as the main source of production for her Sioux Center squad. Franken and company made some lean way last year as they went 21-3, 14-2 in conference but this Winter they will lose 2/3 of their starters due to graduation so Franken will have even more opportunity. Considering she averaged 15 PPG, 9 RPG, & 4 APG with steady help in the past, I’m sure she is going put up even more impressive stat lines over the next six months for her Junior campaign.

had quite a few offers before she ended up committing to the Jackrabbits. This earlier commitment is a smart one by Franken. It’s taken a lot of pressure off of her plate, knowing that she has her future locked in. When it comes to Franken as a player on the hardwood, she is versatile as a 6’0 SF. Offensively, she can post with size when she has that advantage or she can work off of the mid-post from about 15FT out. Defensively, she can guard 2-5 at the Varsity level at this time. That will tighten up a little bit in college as she won’t usually be able to matchup with a true Post over 6’2/6’3 but that shouldn’t be a problem. As for now, Franken is looking to put together another high school season to remember. She won’t be the only returning player to her team’s Varsity roster from year’s past so we will have to see how everyone comes back over these next few months.

. Franken is a prospect who has shown promise over the years at a high level on both the high school floor and on the AAU hardwood as well. She is someone who can kill it offensively, while being a seasoned stopper on the other end. She has a nice mixture of coordination and athletic ability that really helps her thrive. At the D1 level, I see Franken as a 3/4, depending on her team’s system. She is decently versatile as a prospect so I’m sure she will find her fit sooner, rather than later.

of Sioux Center and Sanford Sports. Franken is a coordinated and physical SF, that can spread the floor and make things happen in the blink of an eye with little time or space within a situation. She loves to get involved in the middle of the paint on both sides of the court but she can also step out with her agile movement. She posts a lot of problems in mismatch situations at the high school level. This is someone with a handful of offers to continue on following the next few years. If she keeps working, she should continue to see ample success.

will join up with Sanford Sports Academy for another run during this Spring/Summer AAU season. Franken catches the eye of an evaluator because of her height at over 6’0, she possesses balance and coordination while attacking the opposition on offense, while being someone who can be a versatile weapon on defense with the ability to switch between multiple positions on the court. For Sioux Center this season, Franken was their life-force. She did a good job at putting the team on her back and holding it down into the State Tournament. At times she would catch down low and punish others who may be smaller. She would catch out of the mid-post and attack off the bounce. She would even catch from 15 FT and knock down a pull up if the defense was lacking. All in all, Franken put together a year to remember for her Sophomore campaign and I’m sure she is going to build on that over-time.
