The #1 2027 in Iowa is off the board to the Iowa State Cyclones. This is a major pickup for the Cyclones as they rebuild their roster over the next few years. Over Snoozy’s past three years at the high school level she has averaged 19.5 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 3.3 APG, & 2.2 SPG while leading her team to an overall 68-6 record. That is a pretty impressive resumé if you ask me and the best part? Whenever it’s gotten to AAU season, she is just as good against even higher levels of competition. We are talking about basically a 6’0, knockdown shooting guard, which makes this a major win for the Cyclones and company.

She just led her BH team to another State appearance while putting up some impressive numbers on both ends of the floor. There was even an outing at State where Snoozy put up 39 points on 26 shots without a free throw attempt. That was one of the highest scoring performances in State history on some efficient shooting from all over. At this point in the process, this is someone that has to hold onto 25+ Power4 offers. I’m not sure where she is going to end up but she has options and I’m sure we are getting close to figuring out where she might end up.

Bishop Heelan might not of won it all in the 4A Class while running into the buzz saw that was Macy Comito Macy Comito 5'10" | PG Carlisle | 2026 State #124 Nation IA but that doesn’t mean that Snoozy didn’t show her worth. In each game offensively she lite up the nets, making shot after shot after from distance. Her quick trigger from deep off of the catch or bounce is impressive and it was on full display in both of her showings. She also demonstrated that she is a sound defender, that can switch between positions with her combination of reach and athleticism. To my understanding, Snoozy is close to making her college commitment but after coming off of a strong high school campaign and having another AAU season coming up quick, who knows! We will just have to wait and see what happens.

Snoozy, the future P4 commit, has been lighting up the score boards offensively while being a sound defender for one of the top 4A teams throughout the state. Snoozy has tied the scoring record for a single game with 40 just a few weeks ago but that’s not what’s leading her play. What’s guiding her is her all around play-making ability. Yes, she is scoring a lot right now but that is coming off of her motion while she is running, from her screening action away from the ball, and from her understanding of when to move into what spots on the floor physically. Hopefully she can keep this momentum moving into the Playoffs as they look to make a big run with this group once more before some of their top dawgs leave the program due to graduation.

Snoozy is a CG/SG with touch, coordination, a killer instinct, a beautiful shooting stroke from deep with some automatic range, and a big play making ability. She is the vocal point within her high school team’s system because she can score at all three offensive levels while also being able to switch onto multiple positions defensively. If BH want to win a State Title this Winter, it starts with Snoozy so we will just have to see how far she can take take things once we get into the Playoffs. For now thought, she sticks at #1.

40 Points & 11 Rebounds. A 40 point double-double in other words is what Melina Snoozy Melina Snoozy 5'11" | CG/SG Bishop Heelan Catholic | 2027 State #86 Nation IA did last night against in-town rival Sioux City East. Snoozy almost single handedly won this game by herself in the regards that she scored 40 points on 29 total shots while the Pirates registered 46 points as a group. This is one of those games where it didn’t matter what you did to contain Snoozy. She was on fire from the start and she never looked back. She was making most of her offensive attempts with high levels of confidence and she didn’t take off plays on defense. She stood her ground and stayed active on both sides of the floor. Snoozy remains to be one of the top prospects that the state of Iowa has to offer, that is still uncommitted at this time. She possesses over 20 P4 offers at this point so it’s really just about where feels like home at the end of the day. I’m not sure where that will be but I can’t wait to find out.

Snoozy is a 5’11 CG with a flame-thrower for an arm when it comes to shooting the ball. She moves extremely well for her size in both half-court and full-court situations, while being a solid defender at the same time. At this point in her career, this is someone that is going to have 20-30 Power4 offers prior to her commitment on this pace. All of that doesn’t matter too much though. Her BH team will be the favorites to win the 4A State Title this Winter and that’s what everyone is locked in on. If everyone else plays their role and Snoozy does her thing, they will be hoisting that trophy before you know it.

Snoozy recently received an offer from Clemson to kick off the month of August. This is another big offer for the 5’11 CG/SG. At this point, Snoozy could end up all over the Country depending on where she chooses to go following the next to years of high school ball. This is a hooper that can make shots from ANYWHERE on the court and she has proven that over the past 2 seasons while helping her group to the State Tournament each season. I expect much of the same this go-around as well. Snoozy will be her team’s unquestionable leader and I can’t wait to see how that plays out as the Winter presses on.

Over the past few weeks, Snoozy has brought in several offers from the D1 level. Most recently she has Marquette, Utah, Purdue, Montana State, and Oklahoma State. All solid programs with great names and fan bases behind them. These offers are no surprise. Snoozy is a CG with versatile ability and a distinct shooting stroke. Whenever she shoots it, it looks picture perfect and that just speaks to her overall offensive ability. At this pace Snoozy with have 25-35 D1 offers before she commits, whenever that time may come within the next couple of years.
