The Southwest Super 64 took place at Millennium High School in Goodyear on October 17–18 and showcased premier girls' basketball talent from Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico. The event featured some of the region's top high school programs and delivered two days of intense, high-level competition.

Here we look at some of the freshmen who stood out most to me:

Gorder was impressive, with mature play and the ability to play at a good pace. The freshman never forced the action and consistently made smart, sound decisions on both ends of the floor. I look forward to tracking this young player as she continues to develop.

The athletic freshman has already cracked the rotation for a very deep Gilbert squad. Travis brings good energy and athleticism to the floor, making her presence felt on both ends. She should be a nice addition for the Tigers as she continues to develop.

Doxie looked very comfortable in the minutes she received for a nationally ranked Millennium squad. The freshman guard played with confidence, made smart decisions, and didn't look overwhelmed by the competition. As she gains more experience, expect her confidence and overall game to keep growing.

Phillips may have been the most impressive freshman I watched over the weekend. She was a beast on both ends of the floor, knocking down jumpers and attacking the basket offensively. On defense, she was a true ball hawk, consistently pestering opposing ball handlers and making things difficult throughout the weekend.

A newcomer to the area, Reynolds made a strong first impression with her versatility and skill set. She displayed a very nice handle, played a solid floor game, and used her size effectively to create opportunities for herself and her teammates. Definitely a young prospect to keep an eye on moving forward.
