Below is a list of players who have shown glimpses of greatness but may have not received any recognition this summer. These players below have a high ceiling, incredible skills and ability to make immediate impacts on their given teams.
Jazzy Davis Jazzy Davis 5'11" | PF La Crosse Logan | 2023 WI | La Crosse Logan | 2023
Davis is a post player that coaches and opponents should keep a close eye on. Her ceiling for the game is so high and she has the ability to be such a slasher inside the paint. At 5’11, Davis has great size and uses her body well to grab rebounds. As a freshman last season she averaged 8.6 points and 7.6 rebounds as the second option. She continues to add speed and agility to her game that makes her super tough to defend.
Maia Ellis | Verona | 2024
Ellis will look to join a talented Verona squad this season and hopefully be able to put her scrappy defense and offensive highlights to work. She can knock down from multiple spots on the floor and is super effective mid-range. Playing with her Wisconsin Dynasty squad this summer, Ellis showed she can facilitate the offense as well. This is all much more impressive when taking into consideration she is a 5’10 primarily inside post player. She is steady on the block and a fierce rebounder. Look for her to become more versatile as her confidence continues to rise.
McKenna Monogue McKenna Monogue 6'0" | SF Middleton | 2022 State WI | Madison Memorial | 2022
A solid forward who can play inside and out, Mahone looks to join a successful Madison Memorial squad this season. Her outside range is impressive- she will knock it down from just about anywhere. She is lethal from the corner! She creates a shot for herself but is most consistent off a pass. Mahone attacks the lane with authority- unbothered by defenders she finishes high and strong.
Aubrey Smith | Monona Grove | 2024
Smith is a player that coaches should have an eye on early on. Her potential is huge as she is extremely poised and composed for her age. She plays with maturity on the floor and stands out for her ability to get up and down. Smith competes with LIR in the summer and has added many aspects to her game that make her an impact athlete. She can rebound the ball well and doesn’t shy away from contact. She has great footwork on defense and seems to be giving 100% the entire time on the floor. A solid two way player, look for Smith to make an immediate impact for Monona Grove.
Lizzie Steingraber | New London | 2023
Steingraber is really becoming an exciting player to watch compete. She has developed a very impressive shot and her release is so quick and sound. She is great at driving through defenders and has a lot more physicality than it may seem. She is proficient at scoring in the lane when contested. She has long length on defense and is constantly deflecting passes and causing turnovers. A beast when left in the lane, the New London standout has improved her confidence with her back to the basket.
