Wriston definitely projects as a guard throughout her high school and college basketball career. Her grandfather is short. Her mom and dad are short. It is okay. Wriston is working on all the tips and tricks needed to play the point guard position. She has developed the ability to shoot the 3 and she can finish with both hands at the rim. The key at the high school level will be how she adjusts to the faster game. Can she defend the best-of-the-best night in and night out, because there are no gimmes in Riverside’s Mountain State Athletic Conference schedule. Will she be able to absorb contact as she finishes as the rim? I am glad she has shown interest to play at the next level as she will have time to get her feet faster and will be able to learn the game on the court from a number of the top guards in the state.
