Four senior starters return from a 14-win campaign for Creston last year. [player_tooltip player_id="131143" first="Sam" last="Dunphy"], Rylie Driskell, Braelyn Baker and [player_tooltip player_id="13908" first="Kelsey" last="Fields"] all started all 24 games as the Panthers reached a Class 3A regional championship. Fields averaged a double-double, scoring almost 18 points and 13 rebounds a night. She was excellent from the field, shooting 55 percent and contributing 4.5 offensive boards. Baker dished out nearly five assists a game. Driskell and Baker combined to make 51 three-pointers, with adding 63 steals. As a team, Creston recorded 257 steals and shot nearly 30 percent from deep.

A tough loss ended Crestwood’s season last year in the regional semifinal, coming up short against Waukon. The Cadets must now replace leader [player_tooltip player_id="134325" first="Sharon" last="Goodman"], who finished her career averaging 27 points and nearly 11 rebounds per game. Goodman accounted for 621 of the 1,351 points scored by Crestwood. Four other starters have moved on, leaving the likes of Olivia Ollendick, Paeytn Blockhus and Britain Ferrie to shoulder the load.

The Fillies continued their strong run on the basketball court by winning 17 games, finishing second in the Little Hawkeye Conference and reaching a Class 4A regional championship. A total of 11 players are back from that team, but several starters must be replaced. Seniors Kylie Merical and Lexi Protzman, junior [player_tooltip player_id="129052" first="Ella" last="Lampe"] and sophomore [player_tooltip player_id="127617" first="Emma" last="Miner"] were all key contributors. Protzman scored 144 points with 78 rebounds, while Lampe added 93 points, 71 boards, 50 assists and 48 steals.
