Recruitment Update: September 30th, 2026

Here are a few athletes out of Iowa that have recently received interest, been offered or they have recently committed to compete at the next level following their impressive AAU seasons this Summer.    Every player listed has shown off their skill-set over the years with their varsity high school team and that has helped them prove to recruiters that they have what it takes to suit up at the next level following their high school careers. Commitment: High Point (NC)   High Point landed a killer in Bentley Dill of Cedar Rapids Kennedy with her commitment this afternoon. Dill has been known as a knock down threat from the outside on the offensive end for years. This last season she demonstrated that her PG bag has also evolved over time, which is what ultimately will get her on the floor at High Point from the looks of it in the near future. It would not shock me if Dill moved between the 1 and 2 spot to start off her college career in the practice arena, eventually moving into one spot specifically where-ever she will be excelling but who knows. She still has two years left of Varsity ball to take her game to uncharted levels so who knows what she might end up being when she takes the floor at the next level in three seasons. Nevertheless - a STEAL for High Point from someone who had several offers to choose from.     Commitment: McKendree (IL)   Sometimes it really just takes one offer to show someone that you believe and Aniyah Boens of DCG High School felt that way when McKendree out of Illinois stepped up to offer her a few weeks ago. Boens has been an under the radar type hooper the last few years. She transferred into DCG early on in High School and she transferred into a program that has an impressive track record so she has had to prove herself over time. This is a great pick up for McKendree. Boens is a 6'1 CG/SF with a lot of versatility and future potential. If she gets the correct guidance moving forward, she could be an absolute WEAPON at the next level.     Offers/Interest: Aurora University (IL)   Lexi Maxwell is a hooper that we haven't spoken about prior to this but I have a feeling she will be highlighted multiple times this Winter with ADM with some of the stat lines she could produce throughout the year. In the past Maxwell has primarily moved down the floor as the 2 within her team's systems but she has also proven that she is skilled enough to take over the 1 spot when their usual 1 has to sub out for whichever reasons. From there, she goes to work depending at which position she is at. She knows that as the PG she has to lead and help all of those around her with her creation ability. As the SG, she can let it fly and be a little more reckless in certain situations. All in all, Maxwell has a handful of D3 offers at this point with Aurora University out of Illinois being the latest so now we just have to see where she ends up.     Several eyes from around the state are curious as to where Ari Phillips might end up and at this point I'm still not sure. Phillips has been a highly rated prospect from the 2027 Class ever since she was a Freshman. She should return as Johnston's leader this Winter coming off of two back-to-back 5A State Titles and undefeated seasons. I do know that whoever offers Phillips - she would like to run the PG spot at the next level and I do think that is plausible. She is at her best with the rock in her possession, making everyone else around her better once she gets into the teeth of the defense. We will see though. Who knows. If she takes over this Winter to start the year and shows everyone watching that it's her time to shine - she should end her high school career committed to compete somewhere as we move into the following season.     Commitment: Coe College (IA)   Maybes Miller is going to be a massive part of Iowa City - City High and their success this upcoming season. Miller is a lengthy CG who can move to the outside and hit some shots or she can go by the hoop and finish over someone else who might be smaller than her. Defensively, she can matchup to a few different positions with success. She can stick down low and wall up or she can stay on the outside with a quicker guard. Iowa City is going to have some nice players this upcoming Winter taking the Varsity floor and I'm excited to see what they can put together.
