After pacing Denison-Schleswig in nearly every key statistical category last year, [player_tooltip player_id="164960" first="Paige" last="Andersen"] enters her senior season with high expectations. Andersen averaged just over 15 points, nine rebounds and 2.5 assists per game last season to lead the Monarchs to 12 wins. She shot nearly 40 percent from the field and 39 percent from the three-point line. Eleven players are set to join Andersen including fellow starters Cambri Brodersen, Ellie Magnuson, [player_tooltip player_id="64778" first="Hannah" last="Neemann"] and Sophie Sonnichsen. Brodersen knocked down 19 triples and Neemann had 186 rebounds. Magnuson added 121 boards, 50 assists and 50 steals.

Owners of a stingy defense, Denver had the tough task of playing Cascade early in regionals last year. The Cyclones finished with a record of 17-9, placing third in the North Iowa Cedar Conference East division. [player_tooltip player_id="129057" first="Reese" last="Johnson"] led the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 10 and six a game as a sophomore. Along with Johnson, Allison Bonnette, Grace Hennessey, Emma Hennessey and Rachel Hennessey are all back with starting experience. [player_tooltip player_id="160555" first="Grace" last="Hennessy"], Johnson and Sydney Eggena all had over 100 rebounds a year ago. Denver made 152 three-pointers overall with Johnson sinking 44.

Des Moines Christian was one of the toughest teams to score on in Class 3A last season, as the Lions rode that defense to a spot in the state tournament. [player_tooltip player_id="164930" first="Moriah" last="Prewitt"], who has committed to Northern Illinois, is one of the top combo guards in the state. She averaged over 18 points last season, shooting nearly 42 percent from the field and over 38 percent from deep. [player_tooltip player_id="165004" first="Kate" last="Muller"] and [player_tooltip player_id="131269" first="Megan" last="Miller"] are also back, as Muller posted 138 rebounds and Miller 110 assists to pace the Lions in both categories. Des Moines Christian loses just one senior, Ellie Schlapkohl, from last year.
