Many of the top 2025 players participated in the event. Here are several more promising prospects for the 2025 class and a couple 2026 players that are making a name for themselves. In part 3, we will list the players who were top performers in the 7th/8th Grade Silver Division. The highlight players have been added to our watch list which will be used for our initial 2025 rankings that will be released in Fall of 2021.
Unesu Machiri (AZ Elite, 2026) – Machiru is an explosive athlete that has tremendous upside. Tough defender with a developing offensive game. Good motor and passion for the game. Look for her to be a top level performer once she reaches high school.
Emma Benitez (AZ Outliers, 2025) – Benitez is a smooth looking combo guard that comes to compete. She has some good quickness and she has improved since our last viewing of her several months back. Benitez is one of the better Southern Arizona prospects for the 2025 class and we will continue to follow her progress.
Tysyn Johnson (TWE Elite, 2025) – Our first time viewing of Johnson and this player can go. She is rather early in her development but you can already see that she will be nice when it counts. Very solid court awareness and Johnson did well in transition. Look for Johnson to make some major strides over the next 12 months.
Breana Saunders (AZ Battle, 2025) – Saunders is so crafty with the ball. She plays with a certain moxy and Saunders demonstrates a ton of confidence. She is going to be a handful as she continues to mature. Saunders loves the game and she continues to impress with every viewing.
Hannah Strauss (AZ Swish, 2025) – Strauss is such a efficient and smart player. She demonstrated great basketball IQ throughout the event and her decision making was very solid. Strauss performed as well as anyone who made the All Tournament team but we decided to chose one player per team…with the exception of the Vegas Elite who had two. Nonetheless Strauss is a very solid prospect going forward and we expect big things in the future from this player.
Anyesa Smith (Rising Champions, 2026) – We have been following Smith for about a year now and she continues to get better and add new things to her game. Smith was a major reason why the Rising Champions made it to the championship game. This smooth performer blends well with fellow Rising Champions guard Sophia Doromal. Combined, their energy and will was tough to match for opposing teams this weekend.
