This was a 2-day event that featured some of the best high school girls basketball players from Arkansas and neighboring states such as Louisiana, Texas, and Oklahoma. This camp had players go through a skill development segment that featured ball handling, finishing, and shooting. The players then participated in situational 2v2, 3v3, and 4v4 to showcase their skills, abilities, and basketball IQ.
This camp featured some players I had already seen and wrote about before so I tried to spread the love and cover some other players that could be on the rise this upcoming season. Some of these players you may know and some you may not, but check out the Arkansas high school players that stood out to me.
Clemisha Prackett Clemisha Prackett 6'2" | C West Memphis | 2023 State AR | 2023 | Post | West Memphis High School
Clemisha is the ultimate competitor that won’t back down from anyone. A hard-nosed athletic post player that will give you 100% effort. Tough to defend on the low block when she gets in position. Uses her strength and jumping ability for rebounds and easy putbacks.
Brilynn Findley Brilynn Findley 5'7" | PG Bryant | 2024 State AR | 2024 | CG | Bryant High School
Brilynn is a solid combo guard that has a good handle and nice shooting stroke. Can’t leave her open behind the three-point line because she will knock it down with ease. If you get too close she can use her handle to get to the rim. Brilynn also moves well without the ball and moves with purpose looking for easy scoring or playmaking opportunities off cuts.
Jayla Stirgus | 2023 | CG | Sylvan Hills High School
Jayla is an impressive point guard that can also make quick reads and quick decisions without being rushed or in a hurry. She’s an unselfish player that can shoot the 3 ball from deep. She has good vision on the attack off the bounce. Jayla doesn’t force her drive. She will retreat to recreate the driving angle or give it up and move without the ball.
Silondra Ingram | 2023 | Wing | Central High School
There were all types of players at this camp. You had your shooters, post players, your point guards that had the ball on a string and you had your slashers. If you were looking for your prototypical slasher then look no further. She can handle it and get to the rim but it’s not going to be anything fancy (which isn’t a bad thing). She’s going to cut, catch and attack. Defensively she’s going to play hard and lock up without fouling.
Wesleigh Ferguson Wesleigh Ferguson 6'0" | SF IMG Academy | 2024 State FL | 2024 | Wing | Benton High School
When the players were doing their skill development, there were a few players in her group that struggled with footwork and finishing with both hands. But Wesleigh didn’t struggle. She did a good job with her jump stops, ball handling, finishing, and shooting. During the competition segment, she gave good effort on both sides of the ball. She could attack off the catch or with her dribble and she used her length defensively.
Sophie Eble | 2024 | Guard | Little Rock Christian Academy
During the ball-handling portion of the camp, Sophie showed she can have good footwork and ball control. She can finish with both hands and make shots. When competition started she continued to show off her ball handling with straight-line drives vs closeouts and finishes at the rim.
Calle Citty | 2023 | Post/Forward | Harding Academy
Calle is a player that is sneaky good. If you take her lightly, you’ll look up and she’s hit you with a jumper, an offensive rebound with a putback, and a score from the low block. She’s not going to doing anything spectacular, but she’s going to be effective with her fundamentals and IQ. And on the defensive end, she’s going to play solid and make you work.
London Robinson | 2023 | Wing | Maumelle High School
London is one of those players that’s going to go at you. She’s a competitor that’s aggressive with the ball and looks to attack off the dribble. London has the ability to get in the paint and finish at the rim. She can also shoot the jumper and her range extends out to the three-point line.
Hallie “HJ” Fender | 2023 | CG | Maumelle High School
Hallie came into the camp with the intent to play hard and showcase her skills. During the skill development portion of the camp, she showed she could handle the ball with good footwork. She has a nice shooting technique that allowed her to make shots over defenders. During the competition segment, she was able to get to her spots on the floor off the dribble and finish in the lane.
