<p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">In one of the later match-ups on day 1 at the #ParkCrossingTipOff Classic, Davidson HS jumped out to an early lead over host Park Crossing. Turnovers really plagued the host team early in the contest.</p> <blockquote> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;"><strong>As both teams worked on feeling one another out, the action picked up late into Q1 as both teams seemed to find a rhythm.</strong></p> </blockquote> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">After one, Davidson led host Park Crossing 19-11.</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">In Q2, the action picked up for Park Crossing as they turned up the defense and forced Davidson into turnovers and bad shots. With 1:49 left in the half, Park Crossing had battled back and cut the lead to three. Both teams battled hard trying to end the half, and Park Crossing took their first lead in the game with 25 seconds left in the half and went into halftime with a 31-30 lead.</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">In Q3, neither team was able to get more than a 3-point lead, and at the end of 3, the game was tied up at 42.</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">The flow of the game stayed the same throughout Q4, as the score was tied at 56 with 1:50 left in the game. Everyone thought we were heading into OT, but Davidson went on a 7-1 run to close out the game and escaped with a 63-57 win.</p> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">I saw some really talented players on both teams.</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Game Standouts:</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Davidson HS</span></p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;"><strong><img class="size-medium wp-image-350407 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/11/PGH-Kelsey-Thompson-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />[player_tooltip player_id="318425" first="Kelsey" last="Thompson"]</strong> (5’10/Shooting Guard/2022)</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Instagram: _1k.kels</p> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Twitter: @kels_hoops23</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Kelsey was an absolute nightmare for Park Crossing. She had an answer for everything they threw at her individually, and when her team needed her to keep them in the flow of the game, she did just that. She has a smooth perimeter shot and is aggressive to the rim. Kelsey is a true threat to score the ball no matter where she stands on the floor nor how defenses choose to defend her.</p> <blockquote> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;"><strong>When the game mattered the most, Kelsey was ball-dominant and willed her team to victory.</strong></p> </blockquote> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">She has a lot of tools in the toolbox and knows how to use them. Her help and gap defense was causing problems for Park Crossing as she played the passing lanes exceptionally well, getting several deflections.</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Kelsey finished the game with 24pts.</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;"><strong><img class="size-medium wp-image-350408 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/11/PGH-ReShaun-Spencer-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />Re’shaun Spencer</strong> (5’8/Shooting Guard/2022)</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Instagram: _reshaun</p> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Twitter: @N/A</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Re’Shaun has good length at the off-guard spot and is a solid player for Davidson. She made winning plays in this game that did not show up on the stat sheet. She helped on the glass, which was huge, especially down the stretch as Davidson went back and forth with Park Crossing. Early, she chipped in some critical buckets to keep Davidson at pace with Park Crossing.</p> <blockquote> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;"><strong>She is good with her c&amp;s scoring opportunities as she can knock down the trey ball.</strong></p> </blockquote> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Re’Shaun finished the game with 10pts.</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;"><span style="font-style: italic;">Park Crossing HS</span></p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;"><strong><img class="size-medium wp-image-350409 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/11/PGH-Alexis-Andrews-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />[player_tooltip player_id="318414" first="Alexis" last="Andrews"]</strong> (5’8/Combo Guard/2022)</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Instagram: a4lexis._</p> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Twitter: @alexisgottaball</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Early during the contest, Alexis did what she could to keep Park Crossing from sinking. She kept the ship afloat for Park Crossing by dropping 4-3’s in the first half and finishing the half with 14pts. She is a sniper from deep, and she has range. She pushed the ball hard in transition and made plays for herself and her teammates. She sees the floor extremely well and is an exceptional passer.</p> <blockquote> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;"><strong>As Davidson had to figure out, Alexis’ offensive play creates problems for defenses and causes them to make adjustments.</strong> She is a threat every time she touches the ball.</p> </blockquote> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Alexis finished the game with 14pts.</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;"><strong><img class="size-medium wp-image-350410 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/11/PGH-Kelsie-Thomas-300x300.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="300" />Kelsie Thomas</strong> (5’8/Forward/2022)</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Instagram: iitskelsie</p> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Twitter: @iitskelsie</p> &nbsp; <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Kelsie was effective for Park Crossing from the tip. She is a tough player that is physical on both ends of the court. She did not mind the physical play as she often initiated it in the paint. She had a tale of two halves when it came to her production. In the first half, she got it done off the bounce with aggressive attacks to the basket. She was physical with her drives and often got to the rim with ease. In the second half, she did her damage in the paint with low block touches.</p> <blockquote> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;"><strong>She has a well-rounded game and can produce in a variety of ways on the court.</strong></p> </blockquote> <p style="margin: 0in; font-family: Georgia; font-size: 16.0pt; color: #0e101a;">Kelsie finished the game with 12pts.</p>
